Journey to Fortaux
Summary: Ash, Dawn, and Brock set off into the Fortaux region to discover what secrets lie in its expanses.
"Wow look at this place" said Ash "It looks like it's a giant fort!!"
"Well that's 'cause it Ash." Dawn retorted.
"Hey you two stop fighting for once and enjoy the trip that was paid for by the mayor of Fortaux City." Brock yelled from the cockpit.
"I read in the brochures that he is the hardest gym leader to beat in the whole region, the better to face him first!" Ash recalled.
But little does he know that A) no one has every or will every beat Fortaux's gym leader and B) that he, the gym leader, Dawn, and Brock will unlock the most ancient secret to ever be found in the vast world of pokemon.
When they touched down and got off the plane, they were greeted by a boy of about 15.
Ash looked around. "Where's the gym leader that said to meet him here?" Pikachu pulled on his pant leg, "Chu (I think this boy might know where he is.)."
The boy looked down at Pikachu. "What a smart Pikachu you have Ash." He said before tickling it under the chin.
Ash accepted the compliment before realizing that the boy knew his name.
The boy looked up at him and said, "Let me guess, 'How do you know my name?'. Simple. I am the mayor of the city of Fortaux." He looked over at Dawn and Brock. "And these two must be Dawn and Brock." He stopped. "Now I must admit that I knew about Brock before hand as part of the gym leaders association."
Brock looked back a while in his memory at a meeting of the gym leader association. "Then…," He said, "You must be Lorege Tondors!"
Dawn looked incredulously at Lorege. "He's too young to be a gym leader though."
Brock shook his head. "Misty, from the Kanto region was about Lorege's age when she started as the head of the Cerulean gym."
Lorege nodded. "Now, I believe Ash wanted to battle me?"
Ash, with his usually gusto nodded. "Just name the time and I'll be ready."
Lorege smiled.
