Disclaimer: I do not own Star Fox and any of the characters, but I do own this story that is based on the game though.

Prologue

Fox was feeling as if his next choice right now will be his last action. The room he was in was pitch-black and unbearably hot. Sweat began to moisten his hazelnut fur and his green jumpsuit that was torn with several slash marks around the abdomen area from the previous encounter. The scent of blood and salt together was making Fox's nose twitchy with uneasiness.

His breathing was heavily and labored. The wounds on his stomach area were long and wide, probably deep too. The blood earlier began gushing out like crazy; however the streams of red seemed to have dried up on his fur and began crusting on the fabric.

Fox's emerald eyes darted around the darkness and silently cursed under his breath. He knew somewhere beyond those unseen walls of darkness, he was being watched. He knew they were watching him, he knew he was also. The picture was clear, all of them taking enjoyment and delight of watching Fox's state of confusion and vulnerability behind some special glass window or something, all of them secretly wanting Fox Mcloud dead.

The thought of how it all happen and what made him ever come here was what Fox called irony. He thought he had stooped lower than the rest of what shouldn't have happened to his team members.

Fox looked around the blinding darkness. Fox lowered his head and dryly smiled to himself. He folded his arms, despite the injuries, and squatted on the unsually cold metallic steel. This raised a few eyebrows amongst the hidden spectators.

Fox was able to remember vividly, how this nightmare all began…

Fox didn't have control of his fate, it was they who decided for him.

It was they who turned everyone he had ever loved and dear, against him.

It was him who was responsible for ever starting the Lylat Wars.

It was their entire fault this whole thing had happened.

Author's Note: Hi guys, this is my first Star Fox fanfiction to post up officially online. (heh) Anyways, I hope you like the prologue and that it makes some sense of what will happen for the next chapter. I am greatly open for some good ideas and maybe a bit of constructive criticism to improve my story. So don't be hesitant to pour out your thoughts about this, just please make sure those opinions aren't mean okay?
