I don't own Gakuen Heaven or any of the characters, because do you ever see Tetsuya making Kaoru tea?

If the Crown Fits…

370 words

One of the Queen's favorite teacups lay smashed on the floor of the Student Council, fresh tea still steaming around the shattered pieces. The air crackled with tension while hot tears streamed down the Queen's face. Not only had the King made another snide remark about his tea remedies, he had actually asked Kaoru to sell some of his more prized china so they could get an apartment together the next school year. The normally calm demeanor of the Queen now shook with underlying rage as he stared down his lover.

The King was utterly speechless, and stared at the scene before him in disbelief. How had things turned out so badly? He had rehearsed his line several times in his head before daring to ask Kaoru, and now there was jagged china strewn all over. All he wanted was to be able to live with his Queen after he graduated in the spring, but somehow he had messed up yet again.

"Do you not hear yourself sometimes, Tet-chan? Think of who you're talking to, for just a moment." The Queen stopped here, as if to add dramatic effect to the already increasingly painful situation. "Do you really wish me to sell the very things I have fought to collect over the years?"

"Now Kaoru-chan, that's not what I meant-"

"Be quiet!" The King stopped, bewildered by his lover's actions. He watched as Kaoru bent slowly to try to pick up the pieces of the cup and wound up cutting two of his fingers. Only a drop spilled, for both digits quickly took refuge in the Queen's mouth. The King winced internally and went to the cupboard to find gauze.

"Don't bother, they've already stopped." The Queen sat on the floor, staring blankly at the broken china. "You're such a boor, Tet-chan. You don't think about nice or refined things, do you?" The King smiled despite the cutting remark. "And you're so snobbish you'd cut off your own hand if it offended you."

The Queen sniffed, but smirked sideways at the King. "If the crown fits…" The very next moment the King had the Queen cradled in his arms and spun around once before kissing him soundly on the lips.
