We've all seen it crack from time to time. A poem reflecting on the mask, and what lies behind it.

Masks

He's been running so long,

He's forgotten how to walk.

He acts so strong,

But it's all just talk.

Each day he keeps smiling,

Each day he keeps lying.

While on the inside,

He's bleeding and dying.

Silence hold him,

It won't let him go.

Such strong pain

That will never show.

Each day he keeps smiling,

Each day he keeps lying.

While on the inside,

He's bleeding and dying.

The mask never fades.

The mask never cracks,

And no one can see

The joy that he lacks.

Each day he keeps smiling,

Each day he keeps lying.

While on the inside,

He's bleeding and dying.

The mask will never fall.
