The summer was long gone as far as Zane knew. The summer before his junior year had been different, a summer full of love, hope and companionship, he knew it would all change once school started, he just didn't know that it would change like this. Zane knew he and Riley could no longer be together once school started again, much less during football season, but this didn't stop the burning feeling of hope Zane had inside of him. The hope that Riley would put finally put Zane first, before football, before his friends, and before his reputation. Zane held onto his hope every after noon as he was forced to his knees, whether in Riley's bedroom, the school bathrooms, or even on occasion an empty classroom. In his diluted thinking, Riley still loved him. He hoped for this every day when he was forced to please Riley. Zane held the hope that Riley would come back, after football or even after high school, for he would wait that long for Riley. Zane held onto this as he peered cautiously at the bruising on his torso and lower back. Though Zane had hope and love for Riley, he knew this was all their relationship would ever amount to, pure selfish sex. Zane had tried many times to convince himself that there was more to their relationship than this, than rape. Zane failed at this attempt every time.
