A/N: This is a pre-written chappie that I came up with while I was pacing in my room XD

Takes place immediately after Sandy's funeral.

"Look how fast they're going out."

"It's Fear. He's tipped the balance."

Jack turns, and that one look conveys everything. In his expression there are a million emotions.

The primary one is concern for his newfound friends. Just underneath that is worry. Pitch's words are ringing through his head.

"If enough kids stop believing, everything your friends protect—wonder, hopes, dreams—it all goes away. And little by little, so do they."

If children stopped believing in the Guardians, childhood legends, what hope has he, with only a hoodie, staff, and an expression to his name? Pitch was trying to kill them all, to blot out belief with Fear.

That thought provoks fresh grief over Sandy's death. If only he could have been faster; but he can't blame Wind. Wind was there at every turn, just as she always had. He has no one to blame but himself, despite the words of comfort North had given. He can't let them down again and possibly get another one of them killed.

Underlying it all is an intense determination to restore innocence and childhood belief before it, and the Guardians, are gone forever. It was a huge goal, but he had an even bigger debt to repay. He could only hope that they might begin to accept it.

So when Bunny hops up to the Globe's control panel and declares their last chance, that determination shows through. Just like at the pond at Tooth's Palace, his expression says, "I'm in."

A/N: Okay, so my first "philisophical" piece of writing done! ;P How was it? Good, bad, terribly awful? I would appreciate it very much if you would tell me. :)
