Prologue
I've always been alone… My parents didn't care much for me… Especially after that. Yes, that changed my life forever. What was that you say? Well, it was a day, just like any other day… Until I saw that cat on the street, about to be hit by a car, I saw the cat as myself, helpless, no one willing to give me a hand. I never gave it a second though, I didn't care what would happen to me… So, all I did was reach out for the cat, and the next thing I remember, I heard voices…
"Are you the father?"
"No, we're not related by blood at all."
"Darling! Nagi was in a traffic accident!"
"Thanks to this, the business negotiations will have to be postponed."
"That child, for the sake of saving a cat…! It seems her right eye and some of her internal organs are already done for… They say she can't be saved."
"…Hey now… The doctor said that she can still be saved if she receives an organ transplant from a blood relative of the same blood type."
"You've got to be kidding me! Chop up my own body for child's sake!?"
"Ever since she was little, that child has never made any friends. Nor can anyone work out what she's thinking. She never became close to you either, did she? It isn't just me. No one wished for that child to stay alive this long."
"Oi… Nagi will hear you."
"That child is in the intensive care unit. She won't hear anything."
Unbelievable… I heard everything. I'm going to die… Somehow it's a little like breathing a sigh of relief… It's finally… over…
And that's when I heard his voice, the voice of the one that would free me from this nightmare…
"An ending… Is merely the beginning of another cycle… Oh? Did you hear my voice? Kufufu, it seems taking a walk has let me to something."
And that's when I saw his face…. Mukuro-sama.
Well, that's the end of the prologue, credit to Amano Akira for KHR and all characters. I took parts of chapter 115 from the manga to help me along in starting this story. I plan on branching out the story from here, even explaining the title choice in upcoming chapters. =P
