Sakura and Naruto strolled lazily down a busy road, passing by several lively shops and restaurants. The fresh smell of food finally wafted into Naruto's senses, and he could barely resist the smell of fresh food as the two walked silently through the street.

"Oi-oi, Sakura-chan, let's get something to eat. Please?" he begged, jumping in front of the girl's path.

She sighed and placed a hand on her hip. "You and your stomach . . . " she mumbled, but agreed to it anyway. The two walked into a tea shop, and sat down at an empty table, waiting for their waitress. Sakura slowly skimmed the room, catching quick sight of a certain raven-haired boy sitting on the other side. "Hm? What's Sasuke doing here?" Naruto followed Sakura's line of sight to the raven sitting alone. "Shouldn't he still be on a mission with Kakashi?"

Just then, a redhead sat next to Sasuke, obvious adoration on her face. The mere sight of the look made Naruto grit his teeth in annoyance--even though he knew it was an irrational action. "Who's the girl?" he demanded stiffly, expecting Sakura to know. He turned to look at his friend. When she shrugged and shook her head, Naruto turned back to Sasuke.

Just as the redhead was placing a long kiss upon the raven's lips.

Shocked, Naruto jumped up from his seat and ran out the restaurant. Sakura followed him, ignoring some of the questioning and offended glares of the customers. When she reached her blonde friend, he was leaning against a fence, breathing hard and tears welling at the corner of his eyes.

"Sakura," he whimpered, voice cracking, "is Sasuke cheating on me?"

They sat in Naruto's apartment. The stereo was on, but the volume was too low to really hear any of the music. A tissue was crumpled in the blonde's curled hand. He didn't even bother using it to wipe away the tears that stung at his eyes and rolled down his cheeks.

Next to him was Sakura, her hand placed gently on Naruto's knee in a consoling gesture. "Naruto, you shouldn't jump to such conclusions. Maybe it's just a misunderstanding," she said soothingly; an attempt to make everything seem alright.

He didn't fall for it. Instead he stood up and started to pace furiously around the small living room. "But what if I'm right, Sakura!? What if it really isn't a mistake or a misunderstanding. What if he really is cheating on me!?" He was yelling now.

Another question was making its way to his lips, but he was stopped by the sound of the front door unlocking and opening. Already knowing who it was, he ran to the door.

Once again, he was about to yell, but was stopped. Before he even had the chance to speak, Sasuke's arms were wrapped around his shoulders, and the raven's lips were pressed against his own. Naruto's eyes widened, then closed as the kiss grew ever more passionate.

"Do you love me?" Sasuke asked firmly when the two broke apart. Naruto was at first confused by the question, not giving an answer. So, Sasuke asked again, this time gripping the blonde's shoulders and looking him square in the eyes. "Do. You. Love. Me."

Naruto stopped gapping, and said in a sure, serious tone, "Yes."

Relief passed through the raven's face. He fell to his knees, pulling Naruto down with him. The two embraced each other again, and, even though Naruto was wondering why Sasuke was acting the way he was, said nothing of it.

At that moment in time, Sakura might as well not have even existed to them. Even with all of the noise she was making to get the two boys' attention.

Okay, so, this is my first ever fan-fiction that I'm publishing. For a first-timer I think I did fairly well. It's a little short, but I have an idea for a second chapter (sorta) so maybe that'll make up for it. And sorry for the god-awful title--it was just calling to me. -.-'

Also, since this is my first fan-fic, I would greatly appreciate a review that is critical. I can take it.
