He just dug himself into a hole.

A grave hole.

He should have stopped boasting when he could, he shouldn't have provoked that bastard who now had his all too cocky posture mirroring his scarred grin as Altair leant against the pillar of the building, watching with smug interest as the other man looked cautiously over the edge before stepping away from the plank.

'On second thought.' Malik found himself mumble nervously, the jump looked that more daunting now he only had one arm.

'Come on Malik, you said you could 'jump the leap of faith easy' Weren't those your exact words you uttered to me not 10 minutes ago?' Altair taunted, his tone light and teasing, that pitch that he knew pissed the other off to no end.

'It seemed easier said than done.' Malik admitted, but his voice was low enough so that the assassin behind him couldn't hear. 'Let's do something else Altair-'

'Just jump already Malik, you'll be fine, just line yourself up with the haystack..' The assassin's voice was drawing nearer to Malik's hesitant frame before he felt the easing comfort of two arms wrap around his waist with unexpected surprise, Altair's warm breath felt on his left cheek despite the humidity.

'Or, you could fuck the jump up and gladly fall to your death.'

That bastard.

'Altair!' Malik exclaimed, shoving his arms away as he turned to face him, the taller assassin convinced that his eyebrow twitched in annoyance as he glared at the man.

'I already feel edgy and I don't need you're encouragement!'

'Just teasing. Calm down.' The smirk re-appeared on Altair's face. 'Now come on, turn around.'

With a deliberate loud exhale of aggravation, Malik did what he was told, two hands finding his being again as Altair placed a hand lightly on the man's left shoulder, the other holding the man's extended right arm as he edged him forward a little.

'Just don't think about how high the jump is, just concentrate on the haystack. You'll get yourself worked up otherwise.' Altair coached, edging the man a little closer end, Malik knowing this all to well as his being tensed from underneath Altair's steady grip.

'Relax Mal.' Altair murmured softly, his white robes flailing softly around Malik's legs from the steady breeze around them.

'It's been so long, I've kind of forgotten what the adrenaline rush feels like.' Malik muttered, his voice a little shaky as he peered down at the height of where they stood and felt like he was going to be sick.

'Do you want me to cause a commotion and get the guards up here so you'll be forced to jump off?' Altair threatened lightly, earning an elbow to his toned stomach from the man in front of him.

'Just jump Malik, nothing bad is going to happen, I'll follow you shortly after.'

Just jump.

Malik's left foot slid outwardly a bit more so that it balanced on the edge on the plank, Altair's hands leaving the man as he stepped back to give him some room, Malik giving one more sparring look to the Altair as he muttered a 'I'll get you for this later bastard' before leaping off in perfect formation, Altair's eyes following the man's descending form and gave a small grin as he landed perfectly into the haystack before following suite, allowing Malik just enough time to emerge from the hay before the other assassin plunged in, waiting for the man to come out of his concealment with that all too annoying satisfied expression on his face.

'See? That wasn't so bad now was it?' Altair taunted, wiping the hay from his clothes.

'Yeah, tell it to someone who cares.' Malik brushed it off, admitting to himself that it wasn't all that bad. He wasn't going to let the arrogant bastard feel that good for him being that fearful over a jump.

'Bet you can't do it with your eyes closed.' Altair challenged.

'Try me.' Malik countered, a smile ghosting over his lips.
