"Feels good to be home..." Lapis Lazuli thought for the millionth time, as she lay sprawled out on her hammock.
It had been a few months since she returned to Earth, but since then, she managed to return the barn, and her and Peridot moved back in. Since that, after they reformed, they were officially Crystal Gems, however, during that time, she and Peridot never really talked about her abandoning everyone.
"Hey, Lazuli?"
Lapis opened an eye and turned. Her green companion was staring at her.
"What's up, Peridot?" Lapis asked.
Peridot nervously fidgeted. "I really missed you when you were gone, you know."
Lapis smiled. "I know, Amethyst told me how you wouldn't come out of the bathroom for a while."
"Amethyst... you weren't supposed to tell her..." Peridot angrily hissed, blushing slightly.
Lapis sighed and stood up . "Look, Peridot... I know what I did was wrong... but you have to understand. I've gone through so much pain and torture from the diamonds before I met the Gems. When I found out they were coming to Earth... I panicked, and..."
"It's okay. I forgive you."
Lapis felt her jaw fall slightly.
Peridot sighed. "I know that you went through a lot in the past, I partially being responsible for it, but now that Yellow and Blue are on our side..."
Lapis nodded. "I don't have to worry as much. It feels great to finally be home." She smiled.
"Home?" Peridot asked in surprise.
"Yeah. My family is here, Steven, Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, you..." suddenly, Lapis was cut off by Peridot wrapping her arms around her in a gem crunching hug. After a moment of surprise, Lapis hugged her friend back.
As they hugged, they didn't realize that their gems began to glow... a glow that soon encased their bodies, pulling the two gems together... but the glow stopped and Peridot jumped back.
"I'm sorry!" She yelped. "That was not my intention!"
Lapis was shocked. She had only fused one other time, and that time she felt scared, disgusted, violated. This time, from what she had felt, it actually felt nice and even enjoyable.
"It's okay." She began.
Peridot was pacing around the room, gripping her hair. "But we almost fused! I've never fused before and you don't have a good history with it... and that was a..." she only stopped when Lapis took her wrists.
"It's okay." Lapis firmly said. "It's natural to be worried your first time."
Peridot exhaled. "You're so calm about this..." she began.
Lapis smiled reassuringly. "It's because, this won't be like the last time. You're not Jasper. We're not Malachite. You're not going to use me to destroy our friends, and I won't drag you underwater."
Peridot looked carefully at her friend, then she realized. "You're nervous too, aren't you?" She asked.
Lapis nodded. "Very." She replied.
The two gems slowly took each other's hands and began to twirl, their gems glowing, slowly pulling the two gems together. Both gems grinned as they melted into each other.
"Peridot, Lapis!" Steven called as he walked into the barn. "Camp Pining Hearts is on. You gonna..." he froze when he realized neither gem was in the room.
Instead, a giant woman was there. She had light green skin with darker green hair that had blue streaks, and bangs covering her triangular gem. Her hair was tied into two stubby pigtails. She had four arms, like Opal, and was wearing a baby blue skirt with a green tank top and bare feet.
"S... Steven!" She exclaimed in terror.
"Giant woman!" Steven cried out excitedly. "Lapis and Peridot?" He asked, walking around the newcomer, looking at her.
The woman nodded, still panicking.
"What gem do you two make?" Steven asked.
The gem looked down at her arms. Finally, she bent down so she was eye level with Steven and smiled.
"Nice to meet you, Steven." She began. "I'm Turquoise."
