Hello. Today, I decided to complete my first challenge from a forum I was doing. The owner of the challenge is River-of-Broken-Souls. It is a one-shot that won't be continued. It is short on purpose. I only own Eagle.

Darkness. That's all the small kit knew. She was dozing, until a sound came to her ears, like a far off sound. It became closer, and clearer. It was high pitched, and it hurt the kits ears. The kit squirmed a little, and then heard a more gently voice. "Hush my little kit; let your dreams take wing. It was only the house folk." The kit relaxed, but couldn't go back to sleep. She was curious of where the sound came from, because all she knew off was darkness.

The kit cracked one open, and then closed it shut against the brightness. After several heartbeats, she tried again, and managed to hold it open. The kit then tried to open the other eye and soon, the world unfolded.

A fuzzy brown pelt surrounded the purple thing she was on. It reached all the way until a big white object stopped it. "It's so big." She murmured. She heard a rustling behind her and turned to see a large black and white cat with blue eyes. The cat looked down at the kit, and began to purr. "Oh, little Eagle. You've opened your eyes!" She purred, and pulled the kitten closer to her warm and soft fur. "I wanted to see more then darkness." Eagle replied.

'Is the world this big?' She wondered. The kit crawled forward and looked over the white edge of the purple thing. It was so big! The world was huge! Suddenly, a big pale creature came through the wall. Once it saw Eagle, it made loud, high pitch noises. Frightened, Eagle crawled back to her mother and curled up next to her soft belly fur.

Her mother wrapped a tail around the young kit protectively, and Eagle relaxed. 'There are other things besides my mother and I. A whole world of things outside that door.' Eagle realized. "Hush kitten. You must be tired. Go to sleep, and I'll be here when you awake." Her mother gently mewed, and then began clean the kits fur. Eagle soon fell under the spell of the tongue's rhythmatic strokes and slowly fell asleep.

The end. Thanks for reading.
