Outcast
The two armored bears circled each other, watching every move the other made. The younger of the two snarled, "She's mine, Iorek."
The other bear, Iorek Brynison, glared at his opponent and replied, "Not if I can help it." Then he lunged, slashing at the younger bear's head with his massive paws and landed a blow on the side of his muzzle. The younger bear staggered sideways a few steps before returning with as much force as Iorek had shown. It was clear that Iorek was the more experienced warrior in this battle; for he merely sidestepped the blow aimed at him and unhooked his opponent's helmet at the same time. The inexperienced bear now started to panic. He knew the odds were against him, especially with his head so unprotected and vulnerable. He fought recklessly now. Giant paws trying to batter any part of Iorek he could reach, the clash of armor could be heard all around, and a ring of bears formed around the two that battled. Iorek paid them no attention, but the younger bear glanced up to see them congregating.
It was in that split second that his focus was drawn away and his concentration lost in which Iorek had found the unprotected part of his neck where the two chest-plates of his armor connected and pinned him to the ground. Iorek snarled menacingly, long black claws pressing down on the other bear's throat, "Do you surrender?"
The other bear replied as though in a daze, "Never. I continue to fight."
Iorek was not satisfied with this answer, "Surrender!" His powerful voice echoed through the ice. He pressed his claws even harder into the other bear's throat, anger sparking in his eyes. The other bear showed no intention of surrendering, and continued to try to battle Iorek. Iorek was becoming angrier and more frustrated by the second, "I'm giving you one last chance. Surrender to me now!"
His demand was still met with defiance. "No, never." Iorek raised a heavy paw. The other bear continued to struggle and resist and he felt more than saw the huge paw slice through the air with all its loathing and fury and deal a death blow.
A heavy silence reverberated over the barren icy landscape, and Iorek, panting slightly, stepped back and saw what he had done. In all his fury he would never have wanted to kill the other bear. But the other bear had not surrendered to his dominance. But that should not be justification for his actions. Shocked by the revelation of what he'd just done, the murder he'd just committed over a she-bear, he turned and fled, an outcast forever.
Towards the back of the crowd of onlookers, a bear by the name of Iofur Raknison smirked.
