Beautiful in his own way

I don't own anything. The first part is Lightining's journal. Kay? Flames are not exactly welcomed, but if you must, I have no problem with them. They will be the fire that I will use to maybe even write more. MATER x McQUEEN FOREVER!

- Happy Reading.

'Sally showed me a small beach next to the waterfall; it was a small space, quiet. It was like it was made just for people to collect their thoughts. It was peaceful, calming, and the breeze was just cold enough to allow you such soothing thoughts. So I bought a journal from Lizzie, and am recording my thoughts in it so far.

A lot had happened to me in the past couple days. I had been held prisoner in a strange town, but also I was allowed to see how much of a prisoner I had been to the world around me. I assure you that I did not mean to be. When I entered the racing career, I raced to feel the wind in my face, and the rearing of the horsepower under the hood. To feel that rush, was better than anything I ever witnessed. But then I became a slave of that rush, consumed by it. I wanted so much to win, it didn't matter how I got there. I just wanted to win.

But when I stumbled upon this town, something happened. I was awoken by a rusty tow truck, and he was very, how do I put this? Beautiful in his own way. No, that doesn't do him justice. He's everything, anyone would ever want. He may seem old, and worn down. But his honesty and his smile more than make up for it. When he looks at me, I know he sees more than any other person in the world could see. When he looks at me, I see it, buried deep behind the rust green eyes. Love.

I am supposed to leave tomorrow, and the road is almost done. The one I wrecked while making my appearance in Radiator Springs. Doc, I can tell really wants me out. But, now that I'm here, I don't want to leave. There's something about this place that just says "STAY!" I would be more than happy to oblige, if it weren't for The Fabulous Hudson Hornet.'

"Lightin'?" A quiet voice said, breaking my thoughts.

Who could that be? It...It couldn't be him.

"Mater?" I turned to see if I was right. Of course I was. There he stood, in the mist of the waterfall, looking like an angel. I had to repress a sigh at the sight. He was so...beautiful.

"Are...are ya leavin'?" He was having a hard time getting the words out. I could tell, I hope he doesn't cry.

"I have to Mater. I'm sorry." I managed to choke out.

Mater shifted his feet and stared at me, and I could see tears forming in the corners of his eyes. I turned away from him to face the waterfall. I couldn't stand to look at him, not like that.

I heard footsteps, and then I felt hands slowly wrap themselves around me. Enclosing me, warming me.

"Please..." He whispered. "Please don't leave me."

"Mater..." I tried.

"Lightin'! I... I love you!" I could feel his tears dropping on my red hair like rain.

I turned my head to look up at him, that's when I knew I had to do something. I stood on my tiptoes, and slowly closed the gap between our lips. Suddenly, soft lips touched mine in a rush of heat. It was like nothing I had ever experienced, more than racing, more than any girl.

Finally we parted for air, and he blushed.

"Are ya...still leavin'?" He said quietly.

"Mater, I promise. I'm not leaving till someone makes me." I smiled.

But then I saw someone in the bushes and run off. Mater didn't seem to see, so I brushed it off.

But I could have sworn.

No, it couldn't be

...Doc?
