Genre: Poetry (From Sarah's POV)

Disclaimer: I do not own anything that pertains to the Labyrinth. This poem is not for profit but a reflection of how much the movie means to me – rather than eat cookies and watch "Friends," it has inspired me to write.

I Dare To Dream

Maintaining your fierce energy

You walked before me dressed in white

Your hair was golden in its hues

You were framed by the soft moonlight

--

It was cruel to hold my dreams

Or see my dreams upholding you

But was it right to dangle light

Before the night was through?

--

You held a future in you hand

And I in turn your destiny

Here our paths will cross no more,

"You have no power over me."

--

You look so startled with my choice

A decision no one else could do

To forsake fantasy for life

To choose myself over you

--

And then you threw all you had

Into the starry sky

Vanishing within yourself

As the wind blew by

--

The bubble burst - your door had shut

Sarah Williams over king has won

Foolish heart to hear such words

"Sarah… What's done is done."

--

My friends are here to celebrate,

Something – someone caught my eye

Through the window whiteness flitted

Winging wild through blackened sky

--

It's then I learn the price I'll pay

Forever after, you and I -

Growing often hands you pain

Without a reason why.

--

Regret turned me and I stared

Into star studded eternity

I whispered a sigh only he will hear

A promise for his majesty.

--

"I dare to dream and think of you

…I dare to dream you think of me.

It's only forever, not long at all -

The length I dare to dream of thee."

--

I dare to dream.
