Prologue

Adagio: (fr.: adage, It.: adagio) slow, enfolding movements

Snow crackled under his feet as he marched up to the Vampire Hunter association. Zero Kiriyu, the youngest active vampire hunter was slightly late for his meeting with the association's president and therefore in a hurry. Kagami-chan, the presidents secretary smiled crookedly as she saw him and let him pass directly into the main office.

"Ah, Zero-kun, lovely to see you. Do have a seat.", the president said while waving her hand towards the chairs in front of her desk. Zero eyed her wearily. "Zero- kun, I have not called you here for a social call -as you might of guessed already." Zero shifted uncomfortably in his chair, while trying to remember what he could have done wrong this time. He really was getting better at the incantations, he was just under a lot of pressure, since he was a member of the powerful Kiriyu-clan. "Yes, missus president", he said while looking down. Better to be respectful and butter up a bit, then getting in deeper trouble, he thought. "No need for such formalities, I just wanted to talk about you progress. You have been getting better and that is why we have been sending you on more missions lately. BUT, from the reports it seems to me that you miss grace which can be quite essential on secret missions" Oh dear, Zero thought while sighing inwardly, more training coming up. "No need to put on a dejected face Zero- kun. We have decided that you will start taking up a new class, that will certainly help you with your problems concerning elegance and subtlety. We have decided to send you to a … classical ballet class."

Zero, was pissed. He noticed how everyone was getting out of his way, even little Kagami-chan barely dared to say goodbye to the obviously disturbed boy. He vaguely wondered if being able to exude such a aura was one of his clan's abilities, while walking to his motorcycle. As he got on and drove onto the highway, he couldn't help but hear the president's word resound in his head . "Unfortunately, there is a little catch. The school you will be attending is a vampire artistic school. But, these vampires are in favour of co-existence, so unless you behave provocative they will not cause you trouble. Since I am well familiar with your temper, I just wanted to mention this." What did that woman think, she spoke as if she really knew him. He growled lowly and sped up a bit more, as he remembered what she said next. "So Zero-kun staying calm in this situation, will not be you only challenge. This school is top-level with world famous pupils and teachers, but they do not offer a class for beginners of your age and it would have been a bit painful to put you in a class of six-year-olds –especially since they would be better then you. *cough* So the principle and I decided it was best to put you in a mixed group. This is a class that has dancers of you age, as well as others who want an extra practice. It's a kind of 'everyone is welcome'-group. I'm sure you'll feel at home right away." Zero came to a rather rough stop in front of the front door and walked in. "Tadaima", he said while heading for the staircase. "Okaeri, my dear brother. You're back early and you don't look happy." Ichiru, great. His twin brother was staring at him from his position in front of the TV. Zero chose to grunt something about 'special training' before going to his room.
