The Green Angel

Hannah watched Castiel as he busied himself with preparations for their journey. She worried about him; he was still so weak, but nothing seemed to slow him down. Even the tarnish of his stolen grace didn't detract from the blinding light of his righteous purpose.

She wondered if he knew the effect that he had on others.

We're all just like moths to his flame, she mused. We're back in heaven, but our leader never will be until the Winchesters are too. She considered the unpleasant physical sensation that accompanied that thought.

Yes, Castiel was correct, emotions are a distraction.

The Winchester Toast

"To us," announced Dean, passing a beer to his brother.

"Ah, that hits the spot," sighed Sam, sliding back into his deck chair as he squinted into the bright afternoon sunshine reflecting off the lake.

"Yep," added Dean. "All relaxed, drinking responsibly, and doing the brotherly bonding thing."

"And we're back to nearly talking about our feelings, what... three times now?" Sam smirked.

"Even better, neither of us is possessed or cursed or soulless!" Dean's face clouded over. "Are we?"

They ran a couple of checks.

"Phew! Well, that must be a record," Dean chuckled, raising his bottle in salute.
