Cancer.

Oh how I hate that word. That one word changed my whole life.

I was eight years old when I found out I had brain cancer. I had treatment and surgeries for a year and a half before it finally went away completely. It was minor but my mom, Renee, and I were still afraid. Then I got it again. When I was twelve. It was a lot worse this time. I only had a 30% chance of living. I beat the odds and lived. The doctor said if it came back again I would surely die. No doubt about it.

Little did I know, walking into that hospital, that what I had been dreading the last couple of years was finally coming true.
