One Girls dream
"Take a breath, take it deep
"Calm yourself," he says to me
If you play, you play for keeps
Take the gun, and count to three
I'm sweating now, moving slow
No time to think, my turn to go
And you can see my heart beating
You can see it through my chest
Said I'm terrified, but I'm not leaving
I know that I must pass this test
So just pull the trigger
Say a prayer to yourself
He says, "Close your eyes, sometimes it helps"
And then I get a scary thought
That he's here means he's never lost
And you can see my heart beating
Oh, you can see it through my chest
Said I'm terrified, but I'm not leaving
Know that I must pass this test
So just pull the trigger
As my life flashes before my eyes
I'm wondering will I ever see another sunrise?
So many won't get the chance to say goodbye
But it's too late to think of the value of my life
And you can see my heart beating
Oh, you can see it through my chest
Said I'm terrified, but I'm not leaving, no
Know that I must pass this test
You can see my heart beating
Oh, you can see it through my chest
I'm terrified, but I'm not leaving, no
Know that I must pass this test
So just pull the trigger".
"That sounds great, Emma, but you have to go to bed now, remember, it's your birthday." Emma's mother smiled at her soon-to-be sixteen daughter.
"I know, Mom, g'night," said Emma, smiling.

"Happy birthday!" Emma's mum sang along with Emma's brother and sister to wake her up.
"She's not waking up!" giggled Emma's sister Cher. Just then Emma woke, yawning and glaring at her sister.
"Wha'? Why are you in my room?" Emma yawned again.
"We tried to wake you up but you didn't wake up," explained Emma's brother Justin.
"Oh, right," said Emma drowsily.
"Well you're up now, so have breakfast and then we will give you your present," said Emma's mum. Emma got dressed into her school uniform, navy and blue, and poured herself a bowl of rice crispies. "Here's your present, Emma," said her mum. Emma took off the wrapping paper and inside was a wooden box. She opened the box and there was a letter informing her that she was to compete in the X factor. "OMG! Thank you so so much!" gasped Emma. "When are we going over to England?"
"It's in Dublin this week so after school we're going up," replied her mum. "So go and pack. We're staying in a hotel for the week." Emma brushed her teeth and hair and packed up some stuff for their over-night stay in Dublin. "The school bus is here, Mum, bye!" called Emma from the front door.
