DISCLAIMER: meh.
POV: Kendall Knight
"Well, it's good to be back," I sighed as I breathed in the Minnesota air. "Back in surprisingly warm and sunny Minnesota."
"Yeah, to you," James said. "For me it's 'sad and dreary' Minnesota."
"James, get off it. You're just disappointed because you don't have a date to Homecoming. You got a ticket for one."
"So did you."
"I didn't want to drag Jo up here, that's why. She doesn't like cold weather."
Our friend that still lived here had sent us tickets to Homecoming. He was still loyal to us, and we were still loyal to him.
"Hey, guys!" Logan pointed. "Is that Lee?"
I peered over the hoards of people in the airport. I spotted a frock of bright red hair. "Yeah, that's definitely him."
"LEE!" Carlos yelled. He dropped his bag and ran to hug our old friend.
I picked up his bag, and slinging it over my other shoulder, I headed over to where Lee was accidentally knocked over on the floor. "Long time, no see," I said, reaching out my hand to help him up.
"Yeah." Lee eyed Carlos. "Is he still as crazy as he was six months ago?" he whispered to everyone but Carlos.
"Yes," was everyone's answer.
"Great. Well, let's head to my house."
Because Lee was a senior, he had his driver's license and a car. But even though we were sophomores when we left, he was still one of our mutual best friends.
Carlos' eyes lit up and jaw dropped as we neared Lee's house. "Dude, you got a bouncy house?"
"No, it's for my little brother's birthday party. We can play in it for a little while if you want."
"Hell yes!"
The four of us dropped our bags in Lee's front yard and raced to the bouncy house in the side-yard. Of course, Carlos was the first one in.
"Oh. My. God," he breathed. "It has a slide."
I laughed. "And a basketball hoop."
"It has a slide."
"I know. You've said that twice, now."
"It has a slide."
James came in behind me. "Just give up on him. He'll just be standing there in awe for a few minutes."
"It's… it's not swirly, though."
"Dear Lord."
After a while of bouncing around, I heard a high-pitched screeching sound. "Um, Lee?"
"Yeah?" the red-head asked, turning around to face me and bouncing at the same time.
"What's that noise?"
They all listened for a minute.
"Lee, what's the weight limit on this thing?" James asked.
"Crap." He jumped out and surveyed the whole thing. "There's a hole. Right there." He pointed.
We all ran out and watched our bouncing glory collapse on the ground.
"It was so young," Carlos said, his voice shaking.
Lee's brother wasn't going to have a very nice birthday party.
R&R!
