Just a oneshot Serena wrote because she knew Austin and Ally were totally meant for each other. It's super romantic and cheesy and all that crap, but hey, life is cheesy. Sometimes. I think.

"Hey Ally, look at this!"

I looked up at Austin from under my eyelashes. I could almost hear my heart break in two. It just wasn't fair. I had done everything- wrote him songs, helped him with homework, even helped him get dates, and for what? To go "just as friends, nothing more" to the biggest dance on the school year (except for prom. Prom was definitely a biggie).

"Ally?"

"Mmm?"

He gazed at me with those wide blue eyes that you could gaze into all day, his blonde hair swishing above them. I just wanted to touch it, to push it away from his face-

"Ally!"

"I'm alive! Blonde hair!"

He raised an eyebrow. "Are you ok?"

"Fine," I said stiffly. "Just show me."

He started his dance sequence, a series of hip hop moves that only the bet could pull off. And he was definitely the best. Oh, those eyes...

"Ally!"

"I'm awake!"

"Sure..." He cleared his throat. "You wanna show me the lyrics?"

"Okay."

He took his normal seat next to me on the piano's seat. I stroked a few keys. And started singing. It was a faster song, as per his request. I started the end:

Because your love can open me right now

Baby why can't you see

The whole is staring at you

But I'm in the sidelines just watching you

There is no way you could be with me

And yet I'm closer than you think

They keep saying that I don't need you

But baby I'm closer than you think

I played the last note and plastered a fake smile on my face. It was obviously about me. I turned to him, and his yes we're trained on me.

"Ally?" he whispered. "Is there some way that song was about you?"

I swear, my heart stopped beating for a second. "What? Psssh, no. Why would you think that?

"Because Trish told me hat you liked me, and I just-"

"Dang it, I should've never told her!"

He smiled gently. "I had hoped you did."

"What?"

"Ever since I broke up with Kira, I just... I dunno, I only saw you. And then Trisha told me and I had to know."

The corners of my lips turned up a little. "Well, Trish is going to pay."

He leaned his forehead on mine. "Really? Because I was going to thank her."

I snorted. "Of course you would."

He grinned. "How about Friday, we go and get pancakes?"

It was my turn to raise an eyebrow. "Are you asking me out?"

"What if I am?"

I grinned mischeviously. "Only if we play video games in Dez's basement after. Someone told me he has an awesome TV."

"So I've heard."

Then he kissed me.

It was the most amazing feeling in the world. I was flying and melting and there was nothing in the world but us. I was not the first one to pull away.

"So about this song..." I murmured dizzily.

"I think a change of lyrics is in order."
