The leaves were crumpling. She closed her eyes, letting his scent wash over her.

"Hey, Miss Murder..." he purred, caressing her cheek with his wonderful, long tail. He always teased, knowing how much she hated it. She frowned.

"Don't call me that. It's... not true. Not who I am," She looked away, avoiding his powerful gaze. If she saw the pools of yellow, she'd instantly melt. He turned her into a kit, foolish and naive.

"We can't change the past, my little one. He's gone, wiped off the earth by your very own claws," He murmured, his breath warming her ear. "You shouldn't lie to yourself," Obviously he was concerned, but his voice was harsh. "This lion doesn't want his little one hurt."

She glared at her feet. "I was an apprentice, how would I know you weren't a lion...?" She muttered weakly. Her fur was starting to get hot. She frowned once more. "I miss my brothers," She sighed, laying down.

He settled down with her, his body warming hers. "They led you on, making you believe you were all the same," Licking her shoulder, he looked up at her. "They lied."

Her pupils widened, leaving only a thin line of green. "No... they... they knew?!" He only gazed into her eyes. She wailed with despair, then pushed her face into his tortoise-shell fur.

Her black paw tore through the air, aiming for his head. Instead of a practical defense, however, he simply jumped on top of her. She stared up at him, her breath lost. "Well then," He smirked slightly. "I win, once more."

She grimaced. "One more try," She growled. "I need to be able to tear them all to shreds."

He blinked, then shook his head. "My, what an aggressive kitten. No, that's quite enough sparring for one day," He stepped off, then yawned. The wind blew through the trees, lifting the dead leaves and taking them away. "It seems like a good time for sleep."

She scoffed. "So, you're going to take a nap instead of helping me?"

He said nothing for a while. "Well... actually I was hoping you'd take a break before you killed yourself. But now that you mention it... let's go take a nap."

Hollyleaf smiled a bit. "Sol, you're ridicules..."

Well, that sucked. XD They're so out of character, and Sol keeps lying to her... oh well. Hopefully I'll improve!
