A small nugget of Adama / Roslin goodness, dedicated to Moggie.

It was the little things he missed: a breath of fresh air, sunshine on his face and rich coffee in his cup. Simple pleasures that you've forgotten until a long abandoned memory resurfaces to remind you how good it is to hear the tempting sizzle of bacon right before you're about to get a plate full of it.

Bill Adama never dreamt of bacon on Galactica, it never filtered into his mind as something to feel the loss of. But walking barefoot into his kitchen and smelling it's enticing flavours mixed with the aroma of a fresh pot of one of the richest coffees available, he could understand it's charm.

He admitted knowingly to himself that a lot of its charm probably stemmed from the woman preparing it. She was wearing what she lovingly called his lumberjack pyjamas. They were red and white plaid although he also had a set of blue ones. Lumberjack or not he personally loved the pyjamas because on days like today, when they were able to sneak away from their still overly busy lives and escape to his cabin they always found their way on to his companion.

Laura had confessed their first night here that she was unprepared for the temperature drop, something he whole heartedly agreed with upon feeling the icicles resting against his calves. He came to the rescue by giving her a pair of thick woolly socks and his pyjama tops; an item he never felt the need to wear.

Bill couldn't deny how good she looked either, the top was big on her of course but it dipped enough to show tantalizing glimpses of cleavage if he looked down at the right moment. And it accentuated her best feature, those gorgeous legs of hers because the fabric barely reached below her thighs.

He shuffled up behind her and buried his nose in her soft sweet smelling hair.

She smiled as she worked on their scrambled eggs. "Good morning."

He sighed in contentment, wrapping his arms around her. 'This is what life should be like everyday.' He thought.

"Breakfast is almost ready." She told him, turning to give him a quick peck.

He nodded moving away to set the table, "I suppose if you insist on tempting me out of the bed, breakfast is a good reward." He responded.

She laughed as she filled their plates with eggs and bacon, grabbing the freshly popped toast as she made her way to the table. They sat down together and she replied, "Not to worry Bill, I have every intention of tempting you back into bed." He smirked at her as she continued, "But certain strenuous activities from last night made me worry that our energy reserves might be getting a little low."

He chuckled, "You make a good case, Laura. But of course you know that with a hearty breakfast such as this we'll need to do some strenuous exercise to work off all the extra calories."

She nodded, unable to keep the glint in her eye hidden as her bare foot trailed up his calf muscle.

Bill smiled, digging into his bacon; he was a lucky lucky man.
