Setting: September 1st, Harry's first day at Hogwarts.
Severus Snape sat in his dungeon after talking to his snakes, his Slytherin House. This house now included his godson, Draco Malfoy. He had been hoping that Harry Potter, Lily's son, was to be put in his house. But no such luck. There had been a chance. Severus had been in Slytherin, and Lily had been in Gryffindor… There had been a 50-50 chance that his son—his son, not James Potter's—would be placed in Slytherin.
But, he hadn't. He had followed in his mother's footsteps. He had noticed Lily's eyes when he watched his son. This was the first time he'd seen his son. And his son was 11 years old. Lily had always done well with a Glamour Charm. They had always stuck too. He poured himself some tea, knowing his predisposition to alcohol on his father's side. He took a sip of Peppermint tea, frowning into his cup.
Why on earth was Harry so skinny? Snape knew that Harry was living with Petunia. She wasn't such a bitch that she wouldn't have fed him… Sev knew her better than that. At least… He thought so. No, in fact, he was sure. Maybe he'd start slipping Nutrient Potion to Harry in his Pumpkin juice. It'd be better. Maybe he'd talk to Madam Pomfrey about it.
Maybe, maybe, maybe. Maybe if he'd actually married Lily like they were supposed to… Ye Gods!
So many things would be different if Harry was raised with him like he'd requested when Harry was two years old. But Dumbledore had refused to listen. He took another sip of tea.
"He is my son…No one else can disprove that, if Dumbledore chooses to reveal every spell on my son. Now… How shall I act so no one picks up on him being my son. My son. Harry Snape is my son…"
