Their Thoughts
~ Prologue ~
Thunder was heard off in the distance. Lightning flashed, the winds wailed. The normally tranquil Karakura Town was surprisingly hectic. People were seen scurrying towards shelter, others were looking out their windows at the storm. The ground was wet, the streets were wet, the rooftops were wet.
"I hate rain, nothing good ever happens in the rain," a woman dressed in white was heard muttering before she vanished with a faint buzz, reappearing moments later. A tall man also appeared at this time, mere inches away.
"You're far too negative. Hurry up, we're in a rush." he absentmindedly observed, slate gray eyes sparkling with amusement.
"I am in no such rush. You still won't tell me where we're going." The woman spat out. It was obvious, due to her facial expression, that she was not looking forward to this. She only wanted answers. Answers as to why she remembered nothing from before, why she was forced to live in that barren wasteland alone.
"You're not alone anymore." the half materialized figure plainly stated as they headed towards Kurosaki Clinic.
She hated when he read her thoughts. Being close to such a man had it's downsides. "I never said I was alone." She barked, her voice lacking venom, "Besides, I have you. How could I be alone?"
"Sure, whatever you say... You're too slow; it makes this even more troublesome." whined the childish man as he continued to slowly sonido his way through the rain. Stumbling mid step, an outrageously large spiritual presence interrupted his thoughts and concentration.
"Not all of us happen to be almighty Arrancar, W-" she started as she was suddenly knocked off balance by the man's own release of spiritual pressure. Copper hair disheveled, hazel eyes portraying confusion, not a clue what had just happened to invoke this response in her companion.
"Well now, seems they've decided to play for keeps." He drawled, voice lacking the concern etched across his face. His speed increased drastically, it was suddenly a race to see how quickly he could make it to the Clinic.
"W-Wolfe! Slow down! I can't move that fast yet, I'm still recovering!" She screamed after him as she tried to follow as best she could.
Too late. We're too late. She'll never... He thought, full of terror at what might happen, how she might react.
What was so important that he couldn't wait for her? Such a hopeless hopeless man he is. She thought, full of wonder and appreciation for his nature.

~ Author's Note ~
This is supposed to be the prologue to a new story I'm working on with my friend. Yes, it's confusing. Yes, it's supposed to be. Please try to ignore that fact. I'm just looking for some criticism on my writing itself. The story will make sense as we release more, but we still need a title for the story itself. It's an alternate set of events after the Aizen fight, thoughts on anything are welcome.
