A/N- This is based off a poem. I hope you all like it.
Morning fog, and cloudy mist,
By the ocean, alone I sit,
Special Agent Ziva David sat, looking at the ocean. The sky was gray and was going to rain soon. Even the seagulls had went to find shelter. It was taken under advisement to all at the beach that it was time to leave. But Ziva had just arrived. It was early morning and the sun hadn't broken through the clouds. A brown haired figure lounged on her towel, not far from Ziva. And she wondered if this person felt as she did. Alone in the world.
Story plots turn and twist,
One single candle flame it lit.
Ziva looked back toward the horizon again. The sun was breaking through and spilling over the ocean like wax, though it was still cloudy and muggy. Ziva pulled a lighter from her back pocket and lit the flame. There is something captivating about fire. The way it draws you eyes. The way it helps and hurts at the same time. The dark-haired person's eyes were also drawn to the flame. Ziva noted that her eyes were a deep brown. She sighed and silently prayed that the gentle wing would not put out the flame.
Wax is dripping on the sand,
The water hides your secrets,
Not for the first time did Ziva wish that she had told him the truth. A lie, so honest to begin with, had spun until it was something that no one knew. She had said that she didn't. A strait out lie. But what was she to do. The truth would hurt him. The lie had hurt him. All she had wanted was to protect him from the secrets that dug at her soul. So nobel a quest it had seemed. But he was so observant. Knowing when she was hiding something. For all her training she couldn't fool him. He had known Ziva was hiding something, but now it was to late.
A couple walks hand in hand,
Wondering the other's regrets.
A pair walked along the beach in front of Ziva and the other woman. Neither pair paid the other any attention. The brown haired woman was lost in thought and Ziva was to busy with her own problems to notice the walkers staggering step. The way they avoided each other's eyes. They were both hiding something. And the other knew it. too. That makes it all the more worse.
Sun is setting, lights grow dim,
Babies yell and shout,
Ziva had spent the whole day on the beach. It felt good not to be pressured to talk by the other woman, who had sat in the haze all day too. The sun had just made way through the clouds, in time for it to set. Somewhere, in a beachfront home, it was time for the children to go to bed. They didn't want to and they would wine. But that is the way it is with life. A guiding hand would coax them to sleep, and their dreams would be pleasant. Ziva wished that she had that guiding hand now. She didn't know what to do now that he was gone. As she stood up, Ziva noticed tears running down her face and pondered how long they had been there.
"Thank you." She said to the woman sitting next to her.
"For what?" The woman asked looking up, her hair shining in the setting sun.
"Your silence." Ziva answered. The woman nodded. She stood up and walked down the beach in the direction the couple had gone earlier. Maybe it was a trick on the sun, but Ziva would have sworn that she grew wings as she walked away. 'My own guardian angel.' Ziva thought.
I final thought ran through Ziva's head as she walked away from the beach.
I walk away and cry for him,
The candle flickers out.
'Tony, I love you.'
