All that mattered

He couldn't sleep.
Something was keeping him up, but he sensed no danger, and his byakugan showed no threats.
So he did what a certain friend of his told him she did whenever something felt wrong, or she needed to find comfort.
He went for a walk.
The cold night breeze felt soothing to Neji, and walking during the evening was very calming.
He felt more relaxed.
That is, until, he heard a soft noise coming from near the lake.
He quietly walked over, trying to see what was making the sound.
Tenten, sitting down next to the water was sobbing softly.
Neji stood near the bushes, slightly surprised.
The strong willed Tenten, crying?
He walked over to her slowly.
"Tenten?"
She turned around, sniffing and fighting back the tears.
"N-Neji, wh-what are you d-doing here?"
"I don't really know," he answered. "Why are you?"
She stopped talking and the tears began to fall again.
What can I do? This isn't something I'm used to.
Before he knew it, he had already started walking towards her and sitting beside her, holding the girl tight.
She didn't fight back, she didn't object. She didn't even say a word.
She just continued to cry into his chest.
He didn't know why she was crying, but he didn't ask why.
Would he ever find out what had caused her to be like this? He didn't know the answer to that question.
But at that moment, he didn't care.
She needed him now. That was all that mattered.
End.
A/N
What was Tenten crying about? To be honest, I don't know myself. As the story says however, why she was crying is not needed to be known, and perhaps will never be known. Let your own imagination conjure something up. That's how so many stories are made, right?
