"What?"
I stormed into the bedroom I and my husband shared, my eyes blazing with Elbereth's starlight. Turning to face my spouse, I narrowed my eyes.
"Give me a sword. I'm going to save our daughter."
Celeborn's face paled. "Celebrian? What troubles her?"
The mention of my daughter brought tears to my eyes as I recalled what I had seen in my mirror. The meeting we had sought for so long was the cause of this evil, and I for one was not about to let those accursed devilspawn steal my baby.
"I have seen her in the mirror." I said, fixing Celeborn with all the power of my eyes. "She has been captured by orcs."
My husband, Elbereth bless him, sprang to his feet and rushed to my side.
"Where are they?" he asked. "I travel with you." In that moment, I knew why I loved him. He never once questioned my resolve to depart, only asking to accompany me on my quest.
"The party was taken in the Chithaeglir." I said, going to my closet and selecting a light grey riding suit. The leggings were sure to be tight after years of storage, but I cared not. My baby, my Celebrian, was in danger and I was going to save her. Changing out of my nightdress quickly, I looked at Celeborn again. He had a faint smile playing across one side of his mouth.
"Yes?" I asked.
He merely smiled more. "I am just remembering our first meeting."
I laughed slightly. When I was younger, I had been more reckless, but now I preferred manipulation to direct action.
Or at least that had been the case until my daughter's capture.
Celeborn came to my side, embracing me. "She will be well." he promised. I nodded, trying to believe him.
Because if she was harmed, heads would roll.
"Come." he said. "We have weapons to find."
