My Final Story

Spoilers: The Good that Men Do, Kobayashi Maru, Beneath the Raptor's Wing
Note: Takes place several decades after Beneath the Raptor's Wing, Year 2198 to be exact.
"Shuttle Selene Personal Log, Stardate 219809.172314,
"This is Chief Engineer T'Kara of the United Federation Starship Rome, our ship has been attacked by Romulans and many are dead. I regret to say that my shuttle has lost engines due to a fire so I am adrift in space alone with two other crewmembers and our captain.
"We have only hours left and I am the only one conscious, the only one who will feel the pain of freezing alone in space. To a Vulcan it is a bitter end, an end we would never like to meet.
"I have only my family tale to speak of, because in my final hours I think back to the days as a child on Vulcan in the comfort of my family. My father, Sodek and my mother, T'Pol as well as my brother and sister, T'Mir and Soval.
"I was born on Vulcan in the city of Shi'Kahr to two Vulcans, June 12, 2164 or Stardate 216406. 12. I was welcomed with celebration and love, beloved child to two Vulcans who held the Syrranite ways, Surak's true ways.
"I was born to two Vulcans however I am half-human and half-Vulcan. The story was only told to me in my thirteenth year. Apparently my father was a Starfleet officer and met my mother years ago...falling in love with her.
"He was forced to fake his death to serve the Federation during the Romulan-Earth war. He was undercover as a Romulan and did his duty, again he could not tell me. He found his way back to my mother and they married, his life now Vulcan...living the Vulcan life. He walks the path of Surak, is a Vulcan even by appearance however it was not till my thirteenth year when my father fell ill to a sickness no Vulcan caught, that I learned I was in fact half-human.
"My father recovered and no one was wiser to think of him as anything other then Vulcan. I quickly decided to find my path, leading a Vulcan life but became a Starfleet officer...top of my class at the Academy however I fear that is in vain now.
"My mother and father no doubt believe I will return home to Vulcan, my father always held me as his most treasured child so I have fear he will perish at the news of my death.
"The Bond my parents hold will no doubt lead my mother to her death, as soon as my father finishes his journey.
"To whoever finds this, I hope you will return it to Vulcan and into history. This is Commander T'Kara, daughter of Sodek and T'Pol of Vulcan, Chief Engineer of the UFS Rome and this is the end of my walk with Surak. May whoever finds this live long and prosper."
