"Darry!"

The scream tore Darry's attention away from his laughing and joking friends and made him turn to his youngest brother Ponyboy who was running towards him. "Ponyboy? What's wrong?"

"I... saw... a-a.." Ponyboy bent over with his hands on his knees, gasping for breath.

"Woah, what's got you riled up there Ponyboy?" Keith, aka Two-Bit, asked the 14 year old with a grin.

"Sh-shut up!" Finally catching his breath Ponyboy straightened up and pointed away from the lot they were currently standing in and down the street. "I saw a bunch of socs beating somebody up near the DX and..."

Steve let out a ruff grunt, wanting to beat the tar out of the socs know. "But what, kid?"

Ponyboy frowned and looked horrified as he said this. "I don't think it's a guy..."

Six sets of eyes widen at that statement and they took off running towards the DX. When they reached it they saw the group they had moved near the back and there was a small huddled body among the kicks and punches.

"Hey!" Dally shouted tackling the first one he could grab and started pounding his face in. The others all followed his lead except for Ponyboy and Johnny who stayed towards the back, too small to fight the hulking figures. The fight ended quickly with the socs some how able to run away to their Mustangs, bloddy and bruised while shouting curses and threats. Two-Bit flipped them the bird before turning to look at the victim of the attack. Darry had already moved to check on them, placing a large hand on the ack of the white t-shirt.

The person flinched away and flipped over on their back, trying to scoot away but ended up bumping into Soda's legs. Wide onyx eyes darted around looking for an escape. Kneeling down Soda smiled warmly and placed a hand on their shoulder. "Hey, its ok, relax. We won't hurt you."

He (or she) gulped and nodded, calming down some and looking around at all the unfamiliar faces. "Wh-who are you..?"

Soda smiled again. "I'm Sodapop but you can call me Soda. That's my baby brother over there, Ponyboy." Ponyboy smiled sheepishly and waved. "He was the one who told us you were in trouble."

Looking over at him, Pony got a small smile and whispered 'thank you'. He blushed and looked down at the groud.

Soda grinned at his brother's reaction and went around the circle pointing to everyone and telling them their names. Each one waved, grunted, or smiled. Darry, being the grown up he was, smiled and held his hand out for the stranger to shake.

"Its nice to meet all of you... Thank you for helping me..." He said in small voice. "My name's Danny.."

While Darry decided to talk to Danny and look him over checking for any serious damage Two-Bit leaned over and asked Dally and Steve, "Is it just me or does Danny look like..?"

Steve nodded. "Yeah I see it too."

"Looks like Pony was right," Dally commented. "That's a girl-" The words barely left his lips before Danny took over her hat, revealing chocolate colored hair that went past her shoulders. With her hair down, and bangs framing her face, the guys stared at her wide eyed.

"She's cute!"

A/N: Hey guys~! This story idea popped into my head and I decided to give it a try! Tell me what you think, and who Danny (Danielle) should end up with! I'm trying to pick between Soda, Steve, and Two-Bit. Well, review and let me know what you think of this little preview!
