(A/N): This is my first try at a oneshot and sasusaku story. I know it sucks but i'm just trying. :P It's short, very short.
"W… Why…?" She asks me, her face; a look of horror.
Why? I should be the one to ask that. After all I did for her. And yet… I clench my fists as I stand over two dead bodies.
Too close.
Both were to close… Lee… Naruto… were too close. I could not sit back and watch as she and the bowl cut boy got closer, close enough for her lips… his lips…
I slam my sword back down, right through the bastards head.
"Ah!" Sakura flinches; tears stream her face. Oh how I'd love to wipe them away. I don't want her to cry. No, she must smile like she use to.
I looked now to Naruto. My best friend's cool, motionless body. I narrowed my eyes. He's always been too close. To much fiction. Too much touch.
"Sasuke…" I look to her. She looks have scared to death, but I just call it cute. She is cute. I feel my body relax, eyes soft. I react out.
"Sakur—."
"No! Don't touch me!" She slaps my hand away.
Touch…
We are not close enough. She is so far. Why? Why is she like this? After all the slaughter I went through for her?
"Why… why did you kill them? Lee! Naruto! They were your friends!"
"Sak—."
"Don't say my name! Don't you dare!"
I flinch. Her name? Her beautiful name? Forbidden for my lips? Never. I will not believe it.
"Why are you so angry?"
"Angry? Angry? You killed Naruto and Lee! I loved them… we were… so… close…"
"Close…" My voice is low.
"Sas—."
"They were too close! Too close to you! I can't sit back and watch him kiss those lips! Your lips!" I couldn't help but let it all out. "That was supposed to be me! The one to hold you! Kiss you! Wipe away your tears! To be… closer." She looked at me utterly shocked.
"Sa… suke…" She shook her head. "But you were the one… to cause all that pain… the reason for all my tears! It was you! How can you wipe away what you've caused?"
"I didn't want you to cry… I never want you to cry but… but… I had to." I looked her straight in the eye. "I wanted to be… with you. But… he… that man… this world…!" A clenched my fists. "It wasn't safe for you to be around me. Sakura, I killed so many… only to make the world a better place for you… so that I could be with you and know no one would come after you." I gestured to the two dead bodies. "Sakura… I did this for you… for us."
She looked at me, hands over her mouth like she'd throw up any time soon. She shook her head, tears flowing even more.
"N-no… oh god, Sasuke… you… What about the others?" She screamed before running, running far, far away. Out of my react. To far. Not close enough. There is no touch. No words are said.
I look back behind me. What was so wrong?
"Why can't she see I love her…?" I say, staring back at the old rookie nine, Gai's team, all my old sensei's and a few villagers blank, blood covered faces.
They were all too close, I… had to because I love her.
"Sakura…"
Soooo... yeah i'm not a 'fan' of Sasusaku so don't get any ideas
i don't hate S&S, i just think their too good for each other.
But whatever, i'm not going to like hate on S&S cuz 1) i'm too lazy and 2) if i do i'll get a bunch of hate-comments
