Hey guys. Just a really quick, short one shot for health care. This time about opposites attracting. Not my best work but I already have like a 99 in the class. So w.e. Review! Bye guys!

Some say this is the story of how two people were brought together, others say it's just another story. But only Edward and I knew the truth. We were soul mates. And even as the soul mates we are, we are total opposites. Well I shouldn't really say that. We both love classical music, we both hate shopping, and we love to play the piano.

Edward and I had both been playing the piano since we were small children. Playing the piano was easier for me than it was for Edward. You see, Edward, my best friend, my lover, was deaf. We had known eachother since we were babies, our mothers were best friends.

Edward was born deaf. It ran in his family. Neither of his parents was but his grandfather was. Edward and I had stuck to eachother like glue growing up, which would explain how I knew sign language. Esme and Carlisle, Edward's parents, would sign to Edward ever since they learned he was deaf, I had picked up on it too.

If you don't already know, my name is Isabella Swan, twenty year old university junior. I grew up in the small town of Forks, Washington with my Mother and Father. But now I lived with Edward in an apartment off campus at the University of Seattle.

I heard the front door of the apartment enter and I looked up to see Edward standing in the doorway, soaking wet, carrying our supper, Chinese food.

Mmm supper, I signed to him, grabbed the food and went to the kitchen table. I was almost there till I felt two arms spin me around. I smiled and laughed.

I went out in the rain to get you that. Where's my reward? Edward grinned down at me.

Thank you, I then kissed him chastely but Edward wouldn't have that. He pulled me in for a full out make out session.

I pulled back a few minutes later. Let's eat before our dinner get's cold.

Edward and I each grabbed three cartons and brought them to the living room. We curled up on the couch and ate our dinner, occasionally stealing food from the other's carton.

I missed you today. Edward smiled down at me.

You don't even know how much I missed you. I signed back.

We spent the next couple of hours telling eachother about our days. Edward had two classes today. He was studying to become an Otolaryngologist. Edward's dream was to help kids who were deaf. He had spent his whole life having Esme or Carlisle signing to him what the doctor was saying, he wanted to be able to tell kids himself so they wouldn't feel that there was a big difference between them and their doctor, so they knew how much it meant to them to actually be able to talk to a doctor and them talk back.

I on the other hand had no classes today seeing as how it was a Thursday. So I spent my day in our apartment working on one of my many essays. I was studying to become an architect.

What do you want to do tonight? Edward asked.

How about we go down to the harbor? We haven't been there in a while. I suggested. I knew Edward loved the harbor. His parents had a boat down there.

Perfect. He grinned.

Twenty minutes later we were making our way along the board walk. As we walked we talked to eachother about the end of another school year. We had planned to head back to Forks for the entire summer to spend time with our parents and friends back from high school.

And as we walked I thought of how much Edward meant to me. We were different. I could hear, he couldn't. I could talk; he only knew how to say my name and 'hello'. I was so thankful for the man I had. Many people would say he had too many obstacles in his way to live a normal life but that didn't stop him. He was one of a kind. He was my hero.
