The sea was bitterly cold: Ariana would run to the waves and touch the water, retreating with a screech and a laugh; Aberforth laughed and jumped into them, calling his siblings to him; Albus obeyed his calls but only to please him; he must have been in the water for five minutes, with the high salty waves pouring over him and plastering his auburn hair to his head. (Albus disliked the cold; the numbness that spread through his limbs; but he disliked further the saltiness of the sea: it raged down his throat like murder and he cringed at it.)

Albus knew somewhere in his mind that this had to be wrong, but somehow Gellert had convinced him otherwise, had guided him, shown him what to do; Albus had his hand on his erection and was licking the sweaty salt of his shoulder. After that first incident, they did this often, and Gellert generally had a look of pride or amusement on his face as they did; sometimes he laughed, others he yelled, but most of the time he bit Albus, made him bleed. (But it wasn't wrong; and if Albus ever bled for days afterward, well, it wasn't wrong.)

The looks, the scheming, the words that in Aberforth's company made him twitch and spit: all for the Greater Good. Gellert detested Ariana, saw her as an animal to be put down; and once Albus finally realized it - there was an accident, and Ariana was - he couldn't even say it, because Gellert's words were so true but so stupid; and Ariana - (The third time he tasted salt was, as he berated Gellert, the blond struck him so hard he fell, and the blood pooled from his nose and mouth to the ground, and Gellert never looked back.)
