Chapter 26
That evening Taylor and I had dinner with Zeus and Tessa at the Japanese restaurant on the tenth floor of the hotel. The food was good, but Zeus and Tessa hardly spoke. Finally Taylor asked, "Are you guys okay?" "Yeah," they both answered timidly. "Actually, not really," Tessa said. "I don't know, it's just that I've been feeling el-waves all night. Come to think of it, I've been feeling them this whole trip, and they're definitely not coming from you guys." "Really? Do you know where they're coming from?" I asked. She nodded and pointed to a table. There was a girl sitting there all alone. She had long, curly dark hair and brown eyes. She wore a baseball cap, green ripped jeans and Converse sneakers. Her shirt said something in Japanese on it. She stood up, left some cash on the table and walked off.
"C'mon, let's follow her," I said. "But what about our dinner?" Taylor whined. "If Tessa says she's electric, she's electric," I said. "And I'm absolutely positive she's electric," said Tessa. We slid out of our booth and prowled along behind the girl, trying to look natural. When she rode the elevator, we had to wait until the next flight to follow her. By the time we got to her floor, she was already in front of her door, a key in hand. I motioned for Taylor to reboot her. It obviously worked, because she stood there for a moment before remembering what she was doing. But suddenly, an arm flew out of the door next to hers and grabbed her by the shirt, pulling her into the room. That was Jack and Zeus' room!
Okay everyone, that one was kind of meh to me. Don't worry, it won't be a one-shot. I know the end sounds kind of rape-y but that's not what happens. Stay tuned for the next chapter!
