Harry slowly began to open his eyes after what like an eternity. After the blast death seemed like something of an assurance. Considering his luck however it wasn't so surprising that life had not given up on him. How many times in the past had he cheated the reaper of one more soul? It had become something of a running joke the last couple of years considering his line of work.
Slowly he sat up and began looking around. The land was unfamiliar to him. It rolled into shallow hills where healthy vegetation grew along its banks. Grass rolled across his vision like a great green ocean with the occasional patch of shrubs of flowers dotting the land. The air was cleaner with a crisp natural scent to it. Some sort of floral sent was carried upon the wind and it brushed past his face lifting his dark hair up gently before releasing its grip. He took several deep breaths to just enjoy the peaceful environment.
After spending a few moments just enjoying himself he stood up and began looking around for any markers he could recognize. The climate was a little too nice to be England. He assumed that it was possible that the blast had sent him across the English Channel. Perhaps he was in France, or possible even Spain. Hermione had told him of her family's own vacation out of country. The pleasant one they took by choice, not the one where she had to change their memories so they would live safely in Australia while they did battle against a psychopathic wizard with an immortality fetish.
"Hmm?" He noticed something odd boarding his vision. At the top left and right corners of his vision were strange golden icons. At the bottom of his vision were several as well, though with several more. A green, blue, and red bar were present at the bottom center of his vision squashed between three golden icons that bordered both sides. "What is that?"
He rubbed his eyes, but the icons didn't go away. Instead several black spots formed momentarily in his vision. After blinking them away he began to see discover what was going on. When he focused on one of the icons specifically a menu screen popped up in front of his vision giving general details about him. His name, age, rank, health, stamina, and magic pool was all present. After flipping through several more pages it dawned on him what this was all about. "It is like I am playing a real-life game."
It was strange though. The Dursleys had never bought him a game in his life and Dudley certainly didn't let him play with his. By the time he escaped the Dursley household he was a man, if not quite fully in body then very much so mentally and emotionally. At that point in his life video games held little not no appeal to him. While he had wanted to play them as a child after the age of eleven he had rarely ever thought of them. So why am I hallucinating a gamer menu?
He looked off into the distance and saw quite possible the largest mountain range ever. Its peaks shot up well past the clouds that seemed to drift past their midriff. They were beautiful with big white snowcapped tops and widening mass the farther down they went. The only odd part was the extreme shift in direction they took. Along his right the mountains seemed to stretch to his back and front in a straight line. Off in the distance though he could see how they suddenly veered to the left. He was no expert in geology, but that didn't seem normal. That was when a lightbulb went off in his head.
"Oh, I get it. This is a dream." He wanted to kick himself for not realizing it sooner. He had had some of the craziest dreams any human who was not suffering from DRC possibly could. "Still, why am I dreaming about a video game? I have never played one before. In fact, the few times I have ever seen a game being played was when Dudley got really into that WoW game." Remembering the fit his cousin had to throw to play a game that had magic in it was quite the amusing memory.
Still, he had a basic understanding of games. Dudley and his cronies used to talk about their games quite often. By focusing on the map icon in the upper right-hand corner of his vision he was able to enlarge it to get a better idea of surrounding area. He snorted when he saw the map. I think you must explore places first to know what is around.
After a few moments of messing around he began to get frustrated. Isn't there a self-help button or something? As soon as he finished the thought an icon popped up in the center of his vision. It reverted his map back to the small icon it had been. In big bold letter the color of gold a box popped up asking if he wanted to check out the tutorial. With a thought he clicked the yes icon which changed the box into a lengthy list of information. It was a lot more than he had expected. Scrolling down he briefly read what was there. It seemed kind of asinine to do something like that in a dream after all. Towards the bottom was a message. The 'Beginners Help System', huh? When he clicked the icon, a new box popped up.
For beginner players three abilities are available to maximize. Skills, spells, abilities, traits, and more can be maximized that are within the player's ability to control. Base stats, health, stamina, and magic cannot be maximized. Spells may be created. Skills must already be known. Abilities must be within one's ability to already have or must be acquired personally before being maximized.
Harry laughed. It seemed like such a cheap way to start a game. Then again, he didn't know much if anything at all about how other games operated. Maybe there was some advantage all players got that gave them a one up on the enemy NPCs. It seemed like a joke, so he was going to treat it as such. "Ok, I want to be able to call down meteorites to destroy all my enemies." While he was laughing an icon appeared telling him that the spell had been created and maximized to its fullest level (L-10).
The feeling that someone was messing with him started to creep up his spine. It may have been smart to not tempt fate. Instead he chose something more mundane. The second skill he maximized was his ability to explore the surrounding map. Suddenly, the map that he had been looking at previously, which was completely black except for where he was standing, was now completely revealed. The mountains, ocean, rivers, and even settlements were laid out before him. The roads were that spread across the northern lands were laid out with their names hovering right above with such detail that it was shocking.
"So right past these mountains is The Empire. There seems to be a pass that runs right between them and the land I am currently standing on. Considering the size of the towns, roadways, and their numbers I would say that it is more culturally advanced than the ones I am standing in." He looked at the name. "The Border Princes Confederacy."
The All Map Reveal ability had already shown itself to be quite useful. The detail and scope of everything was starting to make him nervous. He had vivid dreams, but this was something else. To keep his mind off the almost ludicrous, but increasingly likely possibility that this was a different world to his, he began to think of a skill that would also be very important to someone who was level one. He had to think back to when Dudley and his friends used to come over and talk about the games they played while he was locked in the cupboard. Memories of kids talking about who they found cool items, treasure, or places started to filter through. The pain was still there it seemed as he pushed the unpleasant memories back down.
"I want a skill that reveals where everything is. The map skill showed me everything that is, but it didn't label the people, the hidden treasure, or any monsters. It seems like half of an equation that I would really need." As soon as he was done talking an icon popped up telling him that his Perfect Radar skill have been created and maximized (L-10).
As soon as the skill activated a cold lump fell in his stomach. Behind him was a sea of red dots coming up from a land called the Badlands. He turned around hoping that there had been a mistake, but was proven quite wrong. Out in the distance was a huge cloud of dust getting kicked up. He ignored several icons popping up telling him that he had learned a host of new skills from a few actions he had performed. From one end of his vision to the other there were enormous numbers of green-skinned creatures coming his way. There were so many that he could not see how far they stretched or how deep they went.
On his map his radar had little bullets popping up with listings of every single one of the monsters coming at him. They all had individual names, but the clear majority belonged to one of two races. Goblins and Orcs. Their varying levels varied between them but the tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands to possibly even more it meant very little to someone level one. He barely even took note of several other types of monsters in the army. Trolls, Giants, Squigs, Giant Wolves, and other such creatures were added in to.
Even with the distance between them Harry knew that they vast horde would soon catch up to him. Already the ground beneath his feet was beginning to shake from the innumerable numbers that seemed to be bearing down on him specifically. With a quick glance at his map he saw that the mountain pass had several fortresses protecting it. If he could get there then maybe it would be possible to escape. Unfortunately, those fortresses were many miles away. There was no chance for him to outrun the oncoming horde on foot.
His mind began to race. Think! There must be a way to escape! Even in a dream the fear of death was overwhelming. His brain went into overdrive trying to think of some way of escaping the oncoming horde when he remembered something very basic. "I am an idiot. I can just teleport out of here!" He took several calming breathes to clear his mind. He pictured in his head the fortress he wanted to go through and used the apparating spell to teleport him away.
He made it a few dozen feet from where he was standing before being unceremoniously dropped onto the ground face flat. At first, he didn't realize how little his spells had gotten to him. An icon popped telling him that he had learned a new spell called teleportation (apparating). As he stood up and looked around that cold lump in his stomach came back when surprisingly the dust cloud filled with monsters seemed to be getting even closer than before.
"What in the hell happened?" He muttered to himself as he tried to figure out why he hadn't gotten anywhere with his spell. His eye caught his magic bar now resting on zero and realized that was the cause of his misfortune. "Damn it! I am only level one! A level one cannot just teleport miles away all by himself!" At that point Harry realized he was basically screwed. He turned tail and began running towards the mountains with everything he had.
As he ran his stamina bar quickly drained away. He was huffing and puffing not too far after that. The constant icon drops telling him he had learned a new skill was really starting to piss him off given his current situation. If that wasn't bad enough several little red dots were moving much faster than the rest of the oncoming green-skinned horde. Above their icons their names, titles, race, and job description popped up. "Of course. Why wouldn't they be riding giant wolves."
He looked around frantically before noticing a large crack in the earth like something left after an earthquake on the earth on his map. It was possibly his only chance of not being stomped into paste by the massive oncoming army or possible worse, eaten by giant wolves. He jogged as quickly as possible to prevent his stamina bar from dropping too quickly. He had noticed his stamina consumption was not even. Apparently, it depended upon what he was using it for. Walking took no stamina while running took a lot. Everything else was just a measure of in between.
Once he made it to the crack he noticed that it was littered with tunnels. He sighed in relief thinking that if he could hide in the tunnels long enough the massive horde would just march past him. His only fear was their stomping feet causing a cave in while he was inside. Considering his situation that wasn't something he had the luxury of worrying about. Before going in he figured he should check out his map to see how close the green-skinned horde was making it to his position. His blood went cold when several red dots registered right behind him.
He turned around just quickly enough to see a massive wolf leaping at him. His reflexes must have been sharp to allow him to duck down and let the blood thirsty beast sail right over him. It landed gracefully for a beast of such size carrying a gangly goblin wolf-rider on its back. The little goblin was carrying a crude spear in one hand while trying to get the wolf to turn on Harry with the other. It was clear that master and mount were not in perfect sync.
Not wanting to give the beast another opportunity at ripping his head off he grabbed a rock and threw it at the rider, more out of desperation than anything else. That Potter Luck seemed to come through for him once again as it made impact with the vicious little creature's head. It wasn't enough to kill the rider, but it didn't have to. Harry was truly terrified when the wolf turned on its rider without hesitation. It ripped off the struggling little brute's head with a single snap of its jaws before feasting hungerly on the remains.
Knowing that he probably only had mere moments until either the other wolf-riders showed up and killed him, or the wolf finished his mean and started to look for second made Harry seize it. He rushed through his menu screen looking for some sort of spell to protect himself. He knew from what he heard that magic users were given at least one spell to start off a game. The laugh that escaped his lips as he saw his one spell held an almost defeated tone.
"Of course." He sighed as he looked at his meteorite shower spell. It was L-10 which no doubt meant it requited a monstrous amount of magic to use. That kind of power Harry did not have. "Of course, this is how I die, with a super spell on hand and no magic to cast it." He pressed it more out of loss than any sense of hope. When it activated his eyes snapped open in shock. "What the hell? There is no way I should have enough magic to cast such a super powerful spell."
He didn't have much time to think about it as he got boxed in. Above him were the wolf-riders tracking his scent. In front of him was the wolf who had just finished his former master. His black fur was matted and his blue eyes held a murderous intent in them. Up close Harry could appreciate its size. It was larger than a pony with teeth like white knives. How the gangly little goblin had been able to control it at all was a mystery. It may have been the only thing that could save his life in that moment.
Just as one or the other was about to jump in for the kill a resonating boom like a nuclear bomb echoed throughout the surrounding lands and into the adjacent ones. The force was so powerful that it knocked the breath out of his chest. Up above a rock went flying through the sky shrouded in flames. Soon after numerous others followed in its wake. As the first one hit, the earth shuttered at its impact. The world was rendered mute by the un-godly force of nature unleashed upon it. Light flashed for miles, earth was kicked up only to fall like a brown cloud, and everything caught up in the explosion was destroyed.

He didn't know how long he had laid on the ground covered up to his neck in debris, but the sun was still visible through a heavy cloud of dust. Where he had expected his body to be in pain, or at least stiff, it wasn't. Instead he felt energized somehow. He assumed this was the result of surviving another near-death experience. Though, from his own experience that is not how he usually felt. He didn't dwell on it long as he quickly stood up. Dirt, rocks, and pieces of vegetation falling off him like water. What remained was quickly dusted off, though it did little good considering the dirt cloud he was standing in.
The casual muggle outfit he had been wearing had survived well enough with only a few tears here and there. His jeans had passed the test well enough. Still, he would need new ones soon. If he didn't then people would start to think him a beggar.
Just as he was about to pull up his map the sound of chains rattling caught his attention. When he turned around standing behind him was the scariest monster he could have ever imagined. It nearly doubled him in height, was covered in thick powerful muscles and coated in a massive set of iron plate armor. On one hand was a massive clawed gauntlet with razor sharp fingers meant to flay anything he grasped. In the other was a massive axe longer than Harry was tall. Its red eyes were filled with nothing but malice, bloodthirst, and rage. The only thing that contrasted with this monster of slaughter's image was the heavy wounds it had already sustained. Blood coated practically every inch of its body and the breathing came out in practically gasps. It was obvious that this massive Orc had not escaped the meteorite shower unharmed. In fact, it was probably on death's door.
Its mighty roar shook Harry out of his stupor. He moved with speed greater than any he had before to avoid an over the head chop from the Orc's axe. It did not let up in its attack and charged after Harry trying with all its might to cleave him in two. No doubt it was trying to relive its frustrations out on Harry for losing its army to a force of nature as there was no way this creature could ever guess that his current enemy had single handedly destroy ever greenskin under his command.
After gaining a little distance Harry focused in on the Orc trying to find some way of killing it. An icon popped up over the Orc's head. Harry gained a new skill called Observe, but ignored it as he tried to learn everything about his enemy. It was a shock to learn that this had been the leader of the massive horde of monsters. His name was Gorbad Ironclaw and he was a level eighty-three orc warlord. The only positive news he found out was that the former warlord was in fact on death's doors. It's massive health bar had been reduced to a mere fifteen points. How the beast could still stand was a mystery. It must have been made from some sturdy stuff.
The massive orc roared its hatred of Harry and tried to cleave him in two once more. Harry slipped on a rock underfoot, but still managed to avoid being killed. As he fell to the ground Gorbad came lumbering over him ready to deliver the killing blow. Desperate, Harry grabbed a rock and threw it at the Orc Warboss. To his shock the rock pierced right through his massive iron helmet, then through his skull, and then out the back of both with ease. The Orc let out a last battle cry before falling over dead.
What the hell? Harry could not fathom how he had just killed that Orc. Health bar almost empty or not a human should not be able to throw a rock through solid iron. Even in a game a level one character should have to work hard to kill even weak monsters. Unless… I am not level one anymore. A thought occurred to him about what might have happened.
He pulled up his menu screen and moved over to the page that had all his stats. Right under his name was his current power level. Upon reading it his jaw nearly hit the ground. He had to reread it several times just to believe it. Dear Morgana! His level had risen alright. It had gone from level one all the way up to level three hundred and fifteen with three thousand one hundred and fifty skill points available for him to dispense at his leisure. He did note that his base stats [ STR, INT, DEX, CON, WIS, and CHA] were raised automatically each time he leveled up. On the other hand, his skills, spells, and abilities had remained the same. He could only surmise that these were what he was supposed to spend his skill points on.
"Wow!" That was all he could say after such a massive boost in levels. He spent the next few minutes flipping through all the skills he had so far. He did not have any of the skills from his life before landing in these new lands listed. It seemed he had started like a completely new character. It didn't take him long to level up his skills seeing as he didn't have that many yet. His observation, running, and all terrains skills were some of his first picks. "This is going to be interesting." He could only imagine how fast he could run now.
Just before he was about to take off a low whimper caught his ear. He paused for a moment to see if he could catch it again. On that note he would need to see if there were any earing skills he could improve. He picked it up once again though it was fainter than the last time he heard it. Curious, he turned around. Following the map, he returned to the place he had nearly been killed. To his surprise the wolf that had eaten its goblin rider was lying in the dirt looking quite miserable. With his new observation skill, he could see that the wolf had several broken bones, some internal bleeding, and some old injuries causing it great distress. It was apparent that the wolf would not survive on its own.
Harry knew he could not just abandon it to die all alone. With that thought in mind he slowly crept closer to it. The wolf noticed his approach and began growling at him in the best menacing tone it could. In truth it came out little better than its whimper. "No! No growling at the man trying to save your life." To his surprise two new skills popped up in his vision. One was Tamer and the other was Command. He quickly maxed out both as they could be useful later.
While looking at the injured wolf he considered his options. I don't know squat about how to help this pitiful thing. He looked at it with a sideways glance. I could try to learn veterinarian skills, but I don't have the supplies needed to treat these injuries. I could try magic, but I don't have a wand. A painful whimper made him sigh. I guess I will just have to try my best.
He stuck out his dominant hand and spoke a healing spell over the creature. Immediately green light began to emanate from his palm that flowed over the wolf. In seconds the wolf went from looking ready to kill over to do trick for a dozen judges. Harry was nearly too slow to block the dust flying off the wolf as he shook himself clean. "Thanks for that. No really, you're so very welcome." To his surprise the wolf leaned over and licked his face. It then gave him the wolf variation of a smile.
Harry's own smile flatlined a bit when he saw the information pertaining to the wolf change a bit. Before the relationship it had with Harry was enemies. After he told it to calm down it went to neutral. Now that he had healed him it went to devoted. Harry already knew that this wolf was not going to just leave him alone. Somehow, he ended up with a pony sized wolf following him.
"Of course. Why not." He rested his head in his palms lowly muttering to himself about how unfair things seemed for him at times. The wolf wasn't going to just let him wallow and licked him again. Harry half-heartedly shooed him away. "Thanks." He reached up and started to scratch the wolf's head. She really seemed to like that. "So, you want to follow me huh?" He got licked again for that.
To his surprise a screen popped up asking him if he wanted to let the great wolf join him company. He pressed the yes button which brought him straight to her information screen. At the age of three she was young. The depth of information about was staggering. It even listed the fact that she had not had any pups yet. How that was relevant he didn't know. What did interest him was her level. For such a scary creature she was surprisingly weak at only level fifteen. Guess she isn't so scary after all. A low grow drew his attention towards her. Ok, maybe a little. Somehow, he could have sworn she was smirking. What is up with me and getting familiars with such odd personalities?
He eyed the wolf for a moment. "You know, if you are going to follow me then you're going to need a name." A moment of contemplation passed. "How about Shade?" The wolf gave an affirmative howl. Immediately her name was registered on her data screen.
Thankful that the wolf was ok with his terrible sense of naming Harry pulled up his map. As he read off the numerous names of tiny hamlets a skill popped up informing him that he had learned a new language. Considering he wasn't going to any of these small hamlets he didn't put any points into learning the language. It is just as I thought. The farther away from the Empire the less number of people. I must be in frontier lands or something. I will need to find a large source of knowledge if I want to figure out more of this world I am in. Going north would probably be the smartest idea.
He looked at his new friend and wondered how friendly these supposed civilized people would be once they saw her. As his eyes wandered to look at the she-wolf he noticed something odd. Wow! There is a city with over thirty thousand people. Barak Varr? What kind of name is that? Another notification popped up telling him that he had learned another new language. He put five points on it and five on the other. He saw no need to max out any language. He wondered if there was ever any human who knew everything about their own language. It just didn't seem plausible. If he needed to know more he had plenty of skill points.
Hmmm… I am guessing that it is sea hub. If it is then no doubt it would hold vast amount of knowledge from all over the known world. That would be ideal for sure. While looking at his map he noticed something strange slightly south of his location. A red and yellow dot practically upon one another. He could only assume they were practically arm's length from the other. Red usually means danger, the dots indicate individuals, so that must mean the red dot is something hostile towards me. Yellow could be neutral or friendly, though I would consider green to be friendly and white to be neutral. Either way it could be someone in trouble. If so then I should go help them.
He thought about how he would get there. Obviously, he concluded that using his teleportation spell would be the fastest, but didn't know how it would affect animals. He didn't want to harm Shade, but was worried about leaving her behind. There was no telling the types of monsters that roamed these lands. After a moment of though he swallowed his fears. He pulled up his skill menu and found his teleportation skill. He quickly maxed it out hoping that would make any issues minimal at least.
Shade gave him a look as he approached her. "Hey, there is someone in trouble and we need to save them quickly. They are too far away to run to in time so were going to teleport. I am not sure if it is safe for animals to be used in this spell. Do you want me to leave you here or risk taking you along?" She growled at him, but it felt like it was more out of being insulted. She was basically telling him off for doubting his courage. He smiled at that. "Sorry. It won't happen again." With that he held onto her neck and activated the spell.
When they popped out of the spell he quickly went to checking her out. She gave a half-hearted effort at looking annoyed, but stayed put and let him finish. Harry was happy to see the wolf had not been injured by his ignorance but didn't dwell on it long as cursing and thumping could be heard behind him.
When he turned around he bore witness to a regular David and Goliath mixed in with a game of Whack-a-Mole. A giant was holding aloft a tree like a club while trying to smash a four-foot-tall humanoid. The contrast between them was quite staggering. While the giant was a good twenty feet tall, dressed basically in a loincloth, and wielding a tree as a weapon the dwarf was basically the opposite. He was only around four feet tall clad head to two in immaculate plate armor wielding an ornamented steel axe. Another contrast between them was their movements. The dwarf was quick, coordinated, and cleaver while the giant was stumbling around trying to smash the dwarf with random swings.
Eventually, through sheer dumb luck, the giant caught the dwarf solid in the chest with a swift kick. The thing's big toe was larger than the dwarf's torso. The impact sent the dwarf flying like an American football. Had it not been for Harry running to catch him, which was luckily made easier as he had been kicked right at him, he would have gone head first into a rather jagged looking rock.
Damn, he's heavy! While easily within Harry's ability to carry it didn't change the fact that the dwarf was much heavier than he would have expected. While only around four feet tall he weighed almost twice that of the average adult male. While some of it was his shredded armor most of it was just solid muscle.
Harry came to a sliding stop after catching the dwarf and began looking him over. A list of issues popped up in front of his eyes. Several bones were broken, the muscles in his back were torn, and his chest had some mild internal blooding. All in all, he got off rather light considering what he had gone through. His armor had obviously taken the brunt of the damage. The plate mail on top was shattered like glass while the chainmail underneath was barely holding on by a fire steel rings.
He was just about to apply healing magic when the thump of something very large running across arid ground became steadily louder. Looking off to his right he saw the giant running at him with tree trunk held over head. He quickly placed the dwarf on Shade's back much to her dismay. She quickly ran off to give him the room needed to handle such a behemoth.
With a bellowing war cry the giant brought down the tree trunk down where Harry had been standing a moment earlier. Harry had teleported at the last moment specifically to buy a little time. Leaves, limbs, and splinters went everywhere. The giant was momentarily confused as there was no bloodstain on his makeshift club. Harry used this moment to go through all the spells he had already used.
After pulling up the screen with his spells on it he found they were listed under two separate categorizations. The first read Lore of Heavens while underneath it was one that read Lore of Life. Under the first was his meteorite spell while under the latter was his healing spell. What is this? His curiosity only grew when he learned it was a skill that could be improved. Without thinking too much into it he maxed out both skills. Immediately, he just understood what they were and how to use them. It was like an instinct he had just suddenly developed and then turned up to ten.
A gut twisting roar went out as the giant realized it had not killed Harry. It turned around with unsteady feet and charged at him again. This time blue energy started to form around him as little sparks of electricity started to pop off all around Harry. Just as the giant had cleared half the distance Harry pointed his index finger right at the giant's heart. A bolt of white-blue lightning arced across the sky in a flash before pierce through without effort. The giant didn't even have time to howl in pain before dying. In an instant he fell to the ground dead with a massive charred hole in his chest.
The smell of burning ozone washed over the surroundings smothering even the scent of charred flesh. The occasional spark of electricity still went off around Harry who for his part just stared slack jawed at what he had just done. Looking at his hands he thought back to when he had been building up his spell. It had been so fast, so easy, so powerful as to been impossible. It was in that moment that Harry was really beginning to understand what maxing something's level out really meant.
A frigid wind blew past him as a low whine drew in his attention. Shade was standing off to his side head held down almost as if she feared him. He didn't like the feeling that brought at all and quickly went over to her. He patted her head several times and apologized for scaring her. She just nuzzled into him sharing her warmth with him.
While patting her head he noticed some blond on her back. In an instant memorizes of the injured dwarf flooded to the forefront of his mind. He immediately went over to Shade's back and grabbed the dwarf laying him gently onto the ground. Fearing that the dwarf could be in mortal danger he used the healing spell to fix him up. The display screen showing him information about the dwarf was quickly updated. There was a listing that told him dwarfs had a high resistance to magic.
What should I do? I am sure I could still heal him even with his high resistance to magic just considering my level, but how would I explain that to him when he wakes up? What if there are not magic users strong enough in this world to overcome his natural resistance? Harry didn't like the thought of letting someone get hurt for his own gains, but felt that in this situation it was best to be safe than sorry. I will heal the major damage and bandage up the rest.
It didn't take long for Harry to fix the dwarf up. He would still be hurting in the morning, but nothing life threatening. He quickly maxed out his first aid skill that popped up as he began to bandage the dwarf up. He set bones, created a splint, and stitched his wounds closed with the hair of a horse tail. It took the better half of an hour, but when he was done all things considered he was proud.
Looking off into the distance at the sun setting over the horizon he thought about setting up camp but changed his mind. Better to be awake than chance whatever else might be wandering around. They were not that far away from Barak Varr. If they walked the entire night then they should be there by day break. Hopefully someone in the city would know who the dwarf was. Maybe there is something like a dwarf embassy. Surely, they would look after him once I show up.
With that Harry began loading the dwarf back onto Shade. He had taken off his armor to prevent chafing to her back. It was sent to his storage screen along with a laundry list of other stuff. It seemed there was no limit to how much could be stored. There was even an organization feature that would not doubt come in handy quite quickly. Hopefully the dwarf wouldn't wake up until they made it to Barak Varr.
Once the dwarf was secure the two allies started to make their way towards Barak Varr.
Hopefully I figure out what the hell I going on…
