The truth about the truth: it hurts, so we lie: Lying to help or benefit others
The wind rushed annoyingly at her face as she hurried down the street, pushing past various people in her haste to get away.
She muttered a half-hearted apology as her shoulder rammed into a passing elderly couple. When they replied with a not-so-friendly response, she quickened her pace, keeping her head low so as to block out most of the wind and to avoid being noticed.
To Ginji, Ban and Paul -
The urgency to get away was so strong that it made her whole body shake violently; an action she was hoping could be attributed to the cold weather.
By the time you read this,
She nervously shifted her eyes back and forth to see if anyone was paying attention to her, to see if she was as obvious as she felt herself to be.
I'll be long gone.
Paranoia: baseless or excessive suspicion of the motives of other – fitting for what the girl was feeling, coupled with the urgency. No one was looking at her, they could care less about the dark haired beauty; and that was the way it should always be.
Don't try to look for me,
She turned down a side alley; throwing a cautious look over her shoulder just to be sure she wasn't being followed.
You won't find me.
She turned again to come back on the street, narrowly avoiding a familiar blonde that was rushing past.
The blonde turned to apologize for his haste but was waved away by a strange, petite form whose features were hidden to his eye. He thought little of it, pivoting on his heels to continue his hurried pace.
She sighed in relief.
I've come to realize that I am more of a liability than an asset.
She turned in the opposite direction of the blonde and hurried off. They were already looking for her and that was one close call too many.
So forget about me.
She cursed her luck; she knew she wouldn't get away without see something that would challenge her resolve – that would question her motives for leaving. She just didn't think it would be so soon, before she had even made it out of the city.
She bit back a fond laugh as she read and reread the familiar flyer, thinking back on a time that was so much simpler. Before the past reared its ugly head.
A rather sharp shoulder met with her own, knocking her from her stupor. The stinging in her shoulder temporarily made her forget her urgency to get away and she turned a glaring gaze upon the culprit responsible for her injury.
"Why don't you watch where you are –," The word dried up on her lips as her eyes fell upon the towering brunette before her.
He looked angry and a bit worse for wear, his usually disheveled appearance was tenfold and there was a frown on his lips and a glare in his eye. She guessed searching all through the night for a person who didn't want to be found could do that to a person.
Because I've forgotten about you.
She saw many emotions dancing behind the bespectacled purple orbs: rage….worry…relief….lo–
The urgency intensified tenfold, immediately causing the woman to stumble away from the man before her. The urgency was clutching at her racing heart and making it hard to breathe. It wasn't supposed to be like this, she wasn't supposed to run into them both on the street, she was supposed to…..
And she ran before she could even finish her thought, confident that this time there would be no chance encounter. She would continue to run until her legs gave out…..or until her lies became believable to even her.
