Don't Forget Me

Garnet stared blindly out her bedroom window, looking at nothing. She let the tears stream down her eyes, it seemed since everything happened, she couldn't stop the tears from coming. Father is dead. The thought wouldn't leave her alone. Will I ever get to see him again? More tears fell from her face. Someone knocked at the door.

"You may come in." the princess said in a shaky voice. She wiped the tears from her eyes and face, but her eyes remained bright red from crying so hard.

"Your Majesty," Beatrix kneeled as she spoke , and got up again. "It's time for.the funereal." She said as Garnet burst into tears.

"Oh Beatrix, whatever will I do?" cried Garnet. Beatrix walked over to comfort the crying princess.

"The time will come when you'll stop crying and remember the time you spent together. He still can stay alive, in your memories, all you have to do is not forget him." comforted the General.

Garnet sniffled. "Stay alive.?" Garnet didn't really understand. "Thank you, Beatrix."

"Your welcome, your Highness." Thanked Beatrix.

Garnet rose from her chair and feigned a smile as to say 'I'll be okay'. Beatrix left the door, and Garnet followed. They walked down the corridor and went down some flights of stairs, as they walked down, Garnet thought about what Beatrix meant.

When they finally reached their destination, Garnet's mother stood their waiting for her, along with Steiner, and the Knights of Pluto as well as some royal guards.

"Garnet." Queen Brahne said to her daughter as she walked towards her. She wiped the tears from Garnet's eyes. Together, they walked out the door to were the funeral was being held.

As the priest talked about her father's life, she couldn't help but cry. She also thought about what Beatrix had told her. 'He'll stay alive as long as you don't forget him.' She remembered a time before her father fell ill when the three of them, her mother, her father and herself, had a picnic in the courtyard. There were so many memories she had of her father-mostly good, but some bad. That's it! She thought, that is what she meant! He will always stay alive in my memories! I just cannot forget him so I can remember him! When the service was over, garnet walked over to her father's casket was, and spoke to him.

"Father, I shall miss you a lot, and I will never forget about you; the times we shared, the fun we had, I will remember it all. So please Father, don't forget me."

"In my dearest memories, I see you reaching out me, Though you're gone, I still believe that you can call out my name"
