Shave
The blade runs slickly over Christian's neck, a hair's breadth from slicing the skin.
He can feel Christian's breath in his hair – his Adam's apple bobbing ever so slightly – the thrumming heart, the jumping vein in his throat – and the sharpness he himself holds in his hand, the focus of his fingers, the closeness, the threat, the fragility of skin beneath sharpened metal.
But also, the whisper; I trust you; closing his fingers around the blade; the eyes that watch as he works, filled with love, and trust, and every single thing that Syed will never take for granted again.
