He couldn't sleep, tossing and turning for hours. He had tried everything – counting sheep, thought about a number heavy constitutional cases that usually bored him to tears – but nothing was working. He was about get up and go to his study, he may as well get some productive work done if he wasn't going to get any shut eye, when Kirsten turned to face him. She was facing him asleep but she snuggled towards him, wrapping her arms around his chest. She looked angelic, clearly in peaceful slumber, smiling occasionally. He could watch her for hours, sure watching his beautiful wife seemed a lot more interesting then case law at this moment in time. He pulled her towards him, so that she was practically on top of him yet he could still see her face.
He felt so close to her. They had gone through a rough patch but they had come out fighting, stronger then ever. They were more connected then ever, he could talk to her about anything. She was everything to him, his best friend as well as lover. It was moments like this when she was wrapped around him, clinging to him that he felt happiest safest, he knew that she would never give up on him even when the going got tough. He kissed her forehead gently and she subconsciously rubbed his chest with her hand. He began to feel drowsy, her body on top of him, snuggled close was making him so cosy, her even breathing began to lull him to sleep he felt his eyelids drooping……
She woke up feeling refreshed, she certainly felt like she'd had a good nights sleep. She looked up slightly, aware that she was practically on top of Sandy, gathered up in his arms. There was nothing like this wonderful feeling, it set the tone for the whole day. She decided to wake him up his favourite way. Leaning upwards she kissed him gently on the lips, lightly at first then a little harder, He responded almost immediately pulling her completely on top of him.
'Morning' she uttered in between the flurry of kisses 'Sleep well?'
He looked at her, thinking about her asleep next to him last night. She was more radiant this morning then ever and he responded 'You bet'
'Glad to hear it. Now how bout some quality time' she teased as her hands moved under his t-shirt. He rolled over her and began to place kisses on her collarbone moving down to her chest.
