"This will only work for a short while. So do what you have to get done."

"I understand, Elle." Everyone stood around Laguna as he prepared to be taken back

into the past. Rinoa waved goodbye to him while Selphie gave him a thumbs up sign.

Everything around him started fade away.

Laguna opened his eyes. He returned to a flower hill he hadn't seen in a long time. In

the middle, Raine stood staring out into the distance. Laguna walked carefully up to her.

I should have done this years ago. Tapping her on the shoulder she turned around

swiftly. A wide grin spread across her face, she had been waiting for him for years on the

hill. She went to hug him but he stopped her and placed a ring on her finger. Tears

welled up in her eyes. I should have done this years ago. She looked up and hugged him

tightly. Laguna closed his arms around her. I'm so sorry. Tears started well up in his

eyes. I'm sorry I wasn't here. He clutched her tighter. She felt dampness on her

shoulder and lifted her head to see that he was crying. I should have never left you. She

looked at him in confusion. I should have been here when you...She put her hands on his

face and kissed away his tears. ...died. He held her close as she started to fade away.

Raine died that year in a car crash. But at least she died with the name Mrs. Laguna

Loire.
