Background: Peter is New York. Action happens during Walking The Line. Peter is walking home.
The rain just got heavier. How am I going to get to Horizon? It will be a long journey. Wet people with umbrellas were running fast, Peter didn't care. He liked the rain. He was already wet, so one minute couldn't make a difference. His thought about kids at Horizon, and even thou every kid was a pain there he still loved them. Many parents came up to him and told him that he was a miracle worker, and that he should get a reward. Reward? Huh? The best reward to Peter was seeing this kids survive. Sometimes he wandered how this kids make it on their own. Peter felt something in his stomach. He thought about getting something to eat. He stopped in front of the cafe. Then all of a sudden someone from behind grabbed Peter's briefcase and ran. The only that Peter saw was a girl about 15 years old. Peter took off running after her. He chased her for few minutes, realizing that this little girl knows the streets better than him.
Peter couldn't understand how can she run for so long, because even he was out of breath. The girl made a turn right and then disappeared in one of the buildings. By the time Peter reached the turn, the only thing he could see was hollow darkness. He turned around and headed home. It took him more than 30 minutes to find his way, and by the time he reached his floor the only thing he thought about was getting some sleep. He searched for his keys. Then he opened the door to his apartment. He took of his shoes and a tie. He sat on the bed, and picked up today's newspaper. Few minutes later he was asleep. hi dad. Peter, when was the last time we played squash together. Summer. Father/ son competition. You never could get the back hand. Peter was sound asleep. He slept like a bay.I think I got that back hand after all, Why can't I have a son that I could be proud of? Not a drug addict. With this words Peter woke up, all sweating. He couldn't believe what his father had just told him. He was mad at his father, his live habits, his addiction, and mostly at himself for being so weak.
The sound at the door made him snap out. He got up, and still dressed in his pants he walked to the door to see what had happened. He slowly opened the door and saw the same girl with his briefcase sitting on the stairs. Peter as quietly as he could approached her. He sat next to her. The girl jumped up.
