SeeU blinked uncomfortably. Sunlight streamed through her thin curtains, creating a small patch of yellow on the floor. She sat up, rubbing her eyes. Yawning, she got out of bed, and glanced at her clock. It was five, incredibly early. Why was she up so early again?
Oh, SeeU remembered. Right, the Ouran Academy. A few days ago, SeeU's company manager had called her during the middle of her rehearsal for the next live show. He informed her that her mechanic had detected an error within her personality chip, and she needed to interact more with humans in order to gather more data about human emotions.
"You need to act more like a human in order to be accepted more," Her manager had explained, "Miku, Luka, Rin and Len went to a human academy too. That's how they learned more human emotions."
To be honest, SeeU couldn't tell the difference between human emotion and robot. What was the difference? Was it honestly better than a robot's?
She peeked into Mayu's colorful room. The rainbow-accented walls glimmered as the light shined on them. "Mayu, get up. We need to leave in a couple hours." She tried to shake the girl awake, gingerly of course.
Instead of waking up however, Mayu just rolled on her side, and muttered something about the time sleepily. Suddenly the girl sat up, her usually sweet eyes dark and shadowed by her bangs. SeeU scrambled backwards, watching fearfully as Mayu reached over her for the sharp, polished black axe.
She watched as Mayu chucked the axe at the window, and a solid thunk echoed through the room, along with a crashing noise. Mayu pulled the covers back over herself and murmured something SeeU couldn't understand.
Gaping, SeeU scrambled out of the house and ran around the outside. She stared at the bleeding corpse in the back of the house, the axe embedded in its head. "Poor thing." SeeU murmured. She grasped his arm with her hands, which were starting to warm up with the heater implanted in her appendix. Their efforts to not get recognized by their fans had included much moving, and dying and changing of names and hair. As of now, SeeU had changed her hair to a darker tone, and her eyes were a dark shade of blue, rather than being light.
She had to admit it wasn't the best disguise, but she wasn't willing to change herself too much. She had also changed her name to Shiyuno, which was known to the staff at Ouran Academy.
SeeU pulled him in under the house, and stuck him in a pre-dug hole, and covered it up with some dirt.
This, she had to admit, happened quite often. Mayu pulling out her axe. Since she had a yandere personality chip, her resistance to killing people was very poor. She understood that this meant one person less and an entire family to mourn the death, but SeeU honestly didn't understand. It was another one of those human emotions.
Maybe she was to learn these emotions, SeeU wondered. The ability to mourn and be sad about someone's death or departure.
She walked back into their house. She had been employed this 'mission' along with numerous other Vocaloids, the ones who had less popularity than the original four, Hatsune Miku, Megurine Luka, and Kagamine Rin and Len.
SeeU had been partnered with Mayu of Exit Tunes, and Luo Tianyi of Shanghai He Nian to undergo this task. Others such as Ring Suzune, IA, etc. had been required to undergo this mission as well, and were currently rooming with each other, as SeeU with her friends.
She went into the shiny kitchen, which gleamed from many hours of cleaning. She opened the top of the large pot on top of the stove, which was filled with cold potatoes and mapo tofu, which was like a spicy tofu meal.
SeeU turned on the heater as Tianyi's head popped out from the bathroom, a toothbrush in her mouth. Luo Tianyi was the first Chinese Vocaloid, so it was interesting rooming with her. Having recently gotten her Global Translators, the Chinese Vocaloid who really didn't understand anything could now actually speak Japanese. She was still a very shy Vocaloid, though.
So in a sense, she had the least amount of time to experience such human emotions, and would have to take longer classes. Of course, mechanism checkups were every Saturday, as well as 'Vocal Training', which was really just a test to see if their voice banks needed upgrading on their software's and whatnot.
Mayu shuffled sleepily into the kitchen as Tianyi ducked back into the bathroom. "What are we having for breakfast?" Although she appeared tired and mellow, SeeU could see that Mayu was fully charged from being plugged in all throughout the night, and this sleepiness was just a part of her human-like programming.
"Just leftovers. Nobody here has a cooking software, do they?"
"Cooking software? I don't think I have one." Mayu's tired-sounding voice still managed to sound sweet and cheery.
"I don't have one. I probably should though," Tianyi responded from the bathroom.
"Hm… So leftovers it is," SeeU snatched the ladle and spooned out their meals when the pot was deemed heated enough.
She placed the bowls on the table, careful to avoid the hot spots of the bowl. It could cause overheating within the fingers, and there was a chance they might malfunction, since the heat-resistant program wasn't perfect yet.
Mayu sat down. Although the Vocaloids didn't really need food, a couple weeks ago the mechanics had put in special program that made the Vocaloids require human food in order to keep their robot bodies moving, in order to be 'more like humans', as her manager and mechanic had put it.
Tianyi came out of the bathroom and sat next to Mayu, pushing a strand of dark hair out of her eyes. She grabbed her spoon and started to eat, Mayu following shortly after.
SeeU sat down as well. When they had finished eating their breakfast, Tianyi stood up. "Mayu, can you get that wire for me?" She pulled open the compact space in her back, which held a few wires and the off and on switch.
Mayu reached forwards and tucked a yellow wire back in its place. "Here?"
"Thanks."
Mayu smiled sweetly and then said, "I think I'm going to change now."
"Let's go too, Tianyi," SeeU said. Tianyi nodded and both girls went into their rooms to change.
When they arrived outside, SeeU walked in front of her friends, ready to remind them of the rules. "Alright, everybody remember the rules, right?"
Mayu nodded innocently and Tianyi followed suit, albeit a little more softly.
"No telling anybody of your real names or identities. The point is for us to be here is to be like normal people. You cannot leave the house without your disguises," SeeU said. She pointed to Mayu and then to Tianyi. Mayu's rainbow streaks at the tips of her hair were gone, and her hair was lighter in shade. Her facial features were modified a bit to look softer, and her eyes were darker. Tianyi's hair was lighter as well, and her eyes were darker.
Though they didn't look much different from their regular looks, it was enough to trick humans. SeeU and her friends had gone out in public as such and not a single person recognized them.
"And then, everyone has the campus map, right?"
"Er – I don't." Tianyi raised her hand up. SeeU mentally searched through her memory files, landing on the file named 'Ouran Academy'. She searched through the many documents, and then found the map buried underneath the classes. SeeU sent it to Tianyi, who lit up a second later. "Thank you."
"Right. No singing is permitted, do you understand?" SeeU put force into her words. Even if they changed their appearance, their voices didn't change. Their fans had never actually heard them speaking, for all the Vocaloids did was sing.
"Um… SeeU – ah, no, Shiyuno-san – we will be late to class at this rate," Tianyi interrupted. SeeU nodded and they hurried to the large, grand building in the distance.
When they arrived, they gave each other hurried 'good lucks', and Tianyi went off to her own classroom. Mayu and SeeU had History first, they found out.
The full, crowded room was still missing their teacher. SeeU pinpointed the seat of her desk using the schedule and other information they might need, and hurried over to it. Despite it being the first day of school, the class was cheerful and loud.
Mayu was a couple desks away from her, SeeU discovered. When she glanced over at her fellow Vocaloid, Mayu tilted her school bag slightly to the side, and something gleamed. Something like realization overcame SeeU.
Mayu had brought that axe with her. She shot Mayu a questioning look. The humans will be horrified! She mouthed.
The Vocaloid shrugged. Suddenly a wave of students started to crowd around Mayu's desk, complimenting her beauty. A flood of students crowded around her too. SeeU smiled and answered all their questions without hesitation.
She knew everything there was to know about herself. It was all programmed, after all.
One thing caught her eye. A girl, her brain told her, wearing the uniform of a guy was sitting to the side, neither gawking at Mayu or SeeU herself. Instead, the female looked merely curious.
"'Scuse me!" A girl with shocking blond hair pushed her way through the crowd. SeeU's brain swam, her mind scouring the internet.
Lily, one of the Vocaloids required to get 'human emotions'. Her hair was lighter, and her eyes were a different shade.
"Nice to meet you, Shiyuno. I'm Masuda Leiko." Her eyes shined however, and soon a PM came into her brain. The voice echoed throughout her head as Lily said what she really meant to say. "Hey, there, SeeU! Hey, isn't this mission thing kind of pointless? I'm Lily, by the way."
"Han Shiyuno, nice to meet you." SeeU sent a PM back, "Nice to meet you too, Lily-san. Yes, I don't quite understand the gist of this mission, but I guess it's inevitable."
"Students, get to your desks," The teacher entered the room, her spectacles incredibly small on her huge nose. SeeU downloaded the proportions of her own face, and then created a map of the teachers. Her nose was nearly three times bigger than the average human size.
She spotted a number of other Vocaloids tossed into the Ouran fray. Tone Rion, IA, Yuzuki Yukari. She all sent them PMs, and they responded cheerfully.
Once class was over, the Vocaloids all assembled at one table. There were far more of them than SeeU could've imagined. After a hearty introduction to all, SeeU quickly finished her lunch, and dragged Tianyi and Mayu with her up. "I want to see the quality of their music room."
"Ah. Maybe we'll run into some humans?" Tianyi asked. She looked a little afraid of the very idea.
"Aha, but you won't be able to speak with them, will you Tianyi?" Mayu teased her lightly. Luo blushed and pushed her playfully.
"I will! I have enough courage!"
SeeU laughed. "But your Science teacher says you wouldn't speak to her."
Tianyi blushed harder, and the other two laughed. But, soon, Tianyi's face was back to its normal lovely hue. The robotic functions were really doing their work.
SeeU eagerly grasped the door to the Music room, ready to pull it open.
Tianyi seemed to be looking at the hanging sign that read 'Music Room', before tugging sheepishly at Mayu's skirt. "Uh, Mayu-san? SeeU-san?"
Unfortunately for her, Mayu was patting on some makeup, and smiling sweetly to herself. SeeU heard very vaguely, but she swept the door to the music room open.
"Welcome to the Host Club~"
Aha, I decided to edit the chapters. I really sucked at writing in 2012. So edits~
The other edits will be out sometime later. This one took two hours, and my hand hurts.
Okay, time to go play Minecraft, so the other edits will be out later.
UNTIL NEXT TIME, FOLKS
