I Am a Girl

By: The Phanatics

I am a girl who did little wrong.
I am a girl who wanted to belong.
I am lost like a robin lost in the darkness,
And there are no ways for me to be found.
I am bound to one man,
Yet my heart, my fragile heart, beats for another.
Now he kills without a thought and makes me shudder.
All I do each day is stand and watch.
Watch him kill.
I feel the blood at night.
I hear their cries in my dreams.
All because I had made one mistake,
It seems that it is my entire fault
They all now pay the price of something that
They had not contributed to.
I am a girl who did something wrong.
And I continue to live the price of my mistakes,
And now know that fate rests in God's hands now.
Not mine – His.
I am a girl who pines for forgiveness.
I know the truth now.
I left you…
And now you're gone.
You were only a man who wanted to be loved.
But now, for all I know, you died like the soulless demon that you have always been and that you will always be.
I am a girl who is finally free.
