AN: THIS IS YOUR WARNING! THIS ONE-SHOT IS SAD, SOMEONE DIES! OK, THERE.
Disclamier: I do not own any of this, nor do I have any claim to itWho talks like that?!
It
was two weeks after the day she turned eighteen
All dressed in
white
Going to the church that night
She had his box of letters
in the passenger seat
Sixpence in a shoe, something barrowed,
something blue
And when the church doors opened up wide
She put
her veil down
Trying to hide the tears
Oh she just couldn't
believe it
She heard trumpets from the military band
And the
flowers fell out of her hand
Miley let out a shakey breath as she pulled into the church parking lot, and looked around, and felt like she wanted to throw up everything she had eaten that morning.
She opened the church doors, and clutching the flowers she had brought, began to walk towards the front, and stopped, looking at her family and friends.
Miley put the veil she had on her head down, and wiped her eyes with the back of her hand.
The
military band started to play, and the flowers fell from Miley's
hand, and she fell into the waiting arms of her best friend Oliver
Oken. Baby
why'd you leave me
Why'd you have to go?
I was counting on
forever, now I'll never know
I can't even breathe
It's like I'm
looking from a distance
Standing in the background
Everybody's
saying, he's not coming home now
This can't be happening to
me
This is just a dream
"Why did she have to leave Oliver?" Miley questioned, and the boy just shook his head.
"It's the way war is, people die, some people live, but mostly, it's a sad, horrible thing, she was my twin sister, my only sister" Oliver mumbled.
Miley
looked up at him, silently wishing she had her forever back. The
preacher man said let us bow our heads and pray
Lord please lift
his soul, and heal this hurt
Then the congregation all stood up
and sang the saddest song that she ever heard
Then they handed her
a folded up flag
And she held on to all she had left of him
Oh,
and what could have been
And then the gun's rang one last shot
And
it felt like a bullet in her heart
"Let us pray" the preacher said, looking sadly at the open casket, and Miley wanted to scream, wanted this all to be a dream.
Everyone in the church stood up, and started to sing the saddest song that Miley had ever heard in her life, and she started crying full force.
One of the men stepped forward, walking over to Miley, and giving her a small smile.
That's when Miley noticed that the man was none other then Jake Ryan, and she felt her mouth drop open.
"I'm really sorry for your lose, we're all going to miss her, a lot, she talked about coming home, having a real family with the best wife anyone could have asked for" Jake said, handing her a folded up flag.
He smiled sadly at her one more time, before stepping back into the line.
Gunshots rang out for the last time, and Miley clutched the flag to her chest.
She got up, walked over to the coffin, as they closed it.
"Goodbye Lilly" she whispered, and turned around, getting a hug from Jackson, Oliver, and to her amazment, Jake stepped forward and hugged her too.
"Bye"
a faint voice whispered. Baby
why'd you leave me
Why'd you have to go?
I was counting on
forever, now I'll never know
I can't even breathe
It's like I'm
looking from a distance
Standing in the background
Everybody's
saying, he's not coming home now
This can't be happening to
me
This is just a dream
