Chapter 1: Tied Up (Teaser)
Hana Song, call-sign: DVa, inspected her firearm in which she was holding, underneath the overhang of an abandoned shack. She had lost her MEKA suit to Talon forces and had to retreat behind the rest of her team. The battlefield today was in Paris, France, 3 days into a mass-invasion by Talon, and it wasn't any old haphazard invasion – they had planned it out thoroughly: They waited for a scheduled storm so they had a visibility advantage, and brought enough firepower to destroy half of a small country.
As Hana was inspecting her firearm, she noticed the interface that she would call another MEKA in with, had shattered during the firefight prior. She let out an audible sigh of annoyance as she realized she was stuck with no self-defence. To make things worse, she also noticed that her side-arm was loaded with a half-full, half empty clip.
"Isn't this just great..." she muttered as she took the clip out of the pistol and put it back in. "I'm no expert, but I'd say I have around 10 shots left...". As she said this, she placed her back on the wall behind her and slid down onto the crude wooden decking which was still soaking wet because of the almost torrential downpour around her.
During this brief period of rest, she started to wonder what her life would be like if she hadn't been selected to join the North Korean MEKA unit. "I could go for some StarCraft II right about now… And some chips. Aww, now I'm hungry!" She said to herself as she felt her stomach rumble because of the chips she was thinking about. "No, I can't think about gaming and food now. I have to get back to the fight!" Hana then shot up, firearm in hand, and started walking towards where she had previously retreated. She walked at a brisk but cautious pace, trying to keep an eye out for any activity, when all of a sudden…
She heard muffled footsteps behind her from clumsy combat boots. She swung around, only to feel something blunt impact the back of her head at force. Hana fell to the ground, unconscious, as her attackers picked up her body and took her away...
