Finally, I've caught up to him. His hair waves at me in the wind, a black flag in a blue sky. Another blast of wind ruffles his high necked blue t-shirt and white knickers. He glanced at me, his sharingan fading into glazed over eyes. He turned and once again I saw the accursed clan symbol of the Uchiha.

"Sasuke Uchiha!" I yell hoarsely into the whistling wind.

We had been chasing him for five months now, this useless chase starting at the Hidden Village of the Mist, and hopefully ending here, at the outskirts of the Hidden Village of the Leaves.

Sasuke whirled around to face me, panting. I too was out of shape. I had diminished my chakra some time ago, and all my comrades had fallen because of exhaustion. I was going to do it for them, for all of Team 28 of the Leaves; I was going to catch Sasuke.

He lunged, and I wavered. For my unsuspecting, I received a wide gash on my arm. In reaction I took out a white ball of diamond shard covered thread, then used what little chakra I had managed to restore to turn into a deadly diamond whip.

His chakra flared, then turned a violent purple. Black marking spread together, and then melded. A black star formed on his nose, and his lips turned black as well. His skin turned a lights grey and his hair grew out to become a deeper grey. Out of his back grew wings that looked like webbed hands. Upon closer observation I saw that the webbing was actually made of smaller fingers.

He looked at me directly in the eyes with a full sharingan. I knew I could not possibly fight him whilst he was in this ultimate form. He noticed my lack of will and strength to fight, and took advantage of it.

My whip sagged as he neared. Once again my chakra had diminished, and my death was only two meters away from me.

The first blow winded me, the second sent me spiraling into the air, and the third left me plowing into the unforgiving ground below me.

I gasped for air and rolled over. I felt the damage instantly. My ribs were cracked and my leg was broken. Sasuke stood over me, a triumphant grin on his face. At he put a kunai to my throat I said to him "At least I will be known as the one who caught up to the great Sasuke Uchiha. I then smiled, unseen because of the ANBU mask, one last time.
