Narcissa slowly opened her eyes as morning light streamed through the gap in the drawn, emerald curtains that draped the magnificent floor length windows. For a split second, she was confused about where she was. Then, she turned over and saw him, still asleep, his bare chest rising and falling peacefully. A smile crept across her face and she remembered.

Last night was her first night in her new home. And now, she had awoken to her first morning in the handsome master bedroom of Malfoy Manor.

Ten days ago, she and Lucius had been married in an extravagant ceremony in front of the Wizarding world's most elite. Right after their reception, the couple had left for their honeymoon in Greece. After a wonderful trip together, they had returned home last night. Lucius's parents had moved to one of the family's summer homes in the south of France, leaving the young newlyweds to begin their lives together in the family Manor.

Narcissa stretched and sat up slightly on her side of the king-sized, four post bed. The sunlight caught the diamonds of her engagement ring and new wedding band, producing a glimmer that stretched across the vast bedroom. Lucius stirred slightly beside her, but continued his peaceful breathing, still asleep.

Narcissa had been waiting for this for years. Ever since she was a little girl, Narcissa had been pruned to be the perfect pureblood wife. While her sisters often scoffed that this idea behind their mother's back, Narcissa could not wait to grow up and marry a handsome, charming, wealthy man. Admittedly, she went through a phase where none of the boys in her company seemed satisfactory, but eventually Lucius Malfoy captured her heart.

One of her favorite memories was their engagement. Lucius had just graduated from Hogwarts and Narcissa had just completed her sixth year. Surprisingly, their very traditional and conservative parents allowed them to take a short holiday together in Spain, just the two of them, before Lucius left to tour Europe for the summer with his mates. The two were enjoying a bottle of wine on the veranda of an elegant restaurant in one of the Spanish coast's lively wizarding communities when Lucius got down on one knee and asked Narcissa Black to become Narcissa Malfoy. She agreed without hesitation. Now, a little more than a year later, they were husband and wife.

Sure, Narcissa had spent the night in Malfoy Manor before, sneaking into Lucius's old bedroom down the hall and sneaking back out before sunrise, mortified of getting caught. But now, this was her home. This master bedroom was where she and Lucius would spend the rest of their lives together. She could decorate the lavish manor house however she pleased and spend her days hosting luncheons and teas and entertaining the social elite.

As she stared up at the ornate chandelier that hung from the middle of the bedroom's high ceiling, smiling at the thought of the rest of her perfect life, Lucius stirred again and this time woke up. He sat up and stretched, the comforter falling from his bare, chiseled chest, and relaxed. He smiled sleepily at his new wife and she smiled back, thinking of waking up next to him every day. He tucked a piece of her long, blonde hair behind her ear and kissed her gently on her forehead. Then, he leaned over and softly whispered in her ear.

"Good morning, Mrs. Malfoy".
