A/N: I decided to write a one shot because I just added a chapter to Welcome Home. So I hope you all enjoy it!

Nanette Himmelfarb

She was pale, like me. And she had bright red hair and lots of freckles. And she had green eyes and glasses. We got a long because we were both so different from everyone else. Well, that and the fact that she was the rabbis daughter and I went to temple every time I was required to…which was every Friday night and Saturday morning along with holidays. Which meant I saw here every time I went.

Her father decided she needed to learn how to dance before her Bat Mitzvah…and my mother volunteered me since she wanted me to learn how to dance as well.

Don't ask me how the tango is a Jewish dance. I thought we would be learning the Hora or some other dance. But no. We learned how to tango.

It was awkward at first, because we were friends and all of a sudden we were holding hands and spinning and dipping each other around the Scarsdale Jewish Community Center.

I remember when I was too afraid to dip her. I said I was going to drop her and she said she trusted me. My face was scarlet for at least five minutes afterwards. I tripped over her feet and she tripped over mine and we stumbled around the small room. We finally stopped to catch our breath and she kissed me. That was my first kiss. I was smitten…head over heels…whatever cheesy cliché you can come up with, I was.

We gave up on learning how to tango and played tag instead. Yes, twelve year olds played tag. Or at least we did. But instead of tagging each other, we kissed.

Looking back, I realized how stupid we were being, running around and kissing. Her father came in and saw us and immediately ended our tango lessons...forbidding her from seeing me anymore. But that didn't matter to us. We snuck around, dating for six whole months before she found someone who she could date publicly.

She was my first love. Yes, I know that sounds stupid, but she was. Yes, I was only twelve…almost thirteen, but I was in love with her.

Some people say you never forget your first love…and I know I'll never forget mine. I will always know her as the pale, red haired, green eyed girl who taught me to tango-Nanette Himmelfarb…the rabbis daughter.

A/N: My attempt at fluff. Sorry it's so short! This didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, but I think it's cute. Tell me what you think!
