Author's Note: Just something I cooked up at one in the morning. I was inspired by a used napkin.

Orihime clung to the soft blanket as salty tears stung her eyes. She blinked furiously and clenched her fists stubbornly, willing herself not to cry.

Barely a moment ago, she had been on the phone with Ichigo. He was going on about the Christmas party and wondering what to get as presents. Gifts, for his dad and sisters, for their classmates…for her.

But not Orihime, he never asked what she wanted for Christmas. It didn't matter anyway, he would forget. His mind would be too crowded with wondering thoughts of what to buy her and which wrapping to use.

Not that the usually smiling friend of his minded.

'As long as Kurosaki-kun is happy, I will do anything.'

That was her mentality. Already she had suppressed the strongest and most desperate emotions. Just to hear him smiling through the phone as he chatted non-stop about where to buy the best Christmas candy for Rukia, she would hold her silence. It didn't matter that his love for another broke her heart, or that she had to continuously hear about his friendly gatherings that excluded her.

Who cares if she had chirped joyful comments on the phone as tears welled up in her eyes? What did it matter that he had asked her the best place to buy some mistletoe for when he asks his crush the big question…

As long as that oblivious male was clueless to her feelings, everything was fine. Absolutely fine…completely a hundred percent fine…

Orihime sniffled and wiped her tears with the already soaked blanket's corner. Tomorrow she would conceal her eye-bags with clever and discreet make-up and stick the cheeriest grin possible on her face.

Just to ensure the light in his eyes, never goes out.
