Jack couldn't sleep. Not that he did often anyway –had didn't need to – but it was the principle of the thing that was getting to him the most,
He looked down at Ianto, who was lying asleep across his chest, and leant down to press a kiss onto the other man's forehead. Ianto stirred, opened his eyes and gazed up at Jack.
"Sorry." Jack murmured, "I didn't mean to- "
"It's aright." Ianto smiled, snuggling up to Jack, "Sleep is overrated anyway."
"Ianto Jones, did you just use a tacky word like 'overrated?" Jack asked in mock horror.
Ianto laughed and kissed Jack. Jack returned the kiss passionately. Things had been tough since they'd lost Owen and Tosh. Very tough. For a while there, Jack had been secretly worried that Ianto was losing it, which was why they were at Ianto's place tonight, instead of at the Hub. Jack knew they both needed some time –if only 12 hours- away from it all.
"Jack…" Ianto murmured, looking up at his lover, "I love you."
Jack kissed Ianto's forehead tenderly, "I know" He replied, pulling Ianto closer. Ianto curled against Jack, like a sleepy child, jut wanting to be comforted and to stay close to the source of the comfort. Jack stroked Ianto's hair as he fell asleep. He loved him so much, but he'd never get the chance to tell him.
