Katniss POV

I'm in a different body.

I hear clear screams in the distance. I run to help but my instinct is to kill; it feels almost programmed. Ahead of me a dark skinned boy is tripping over short roots of the tall oak trees that stick out from the ground. His heaving breathing is becoming more unsyncroniszed with every stride he takes. I have to be dreaming; yes I must because I want to tear this boy to pieces.

He runs looking for an escape we both know doesnt remember how I know; it feels almost programmed.

The more the boy runs the careless he becomes. He doesnm familar with the tall steal cornucopia occupying the field. Afar a blonde hair girl tries to scale the slick walls of the cornucopia. Her movements are quick and clumsy; our eyes meet. Her hair is in a loose braid while wild strands stick to her face from sweat.

Appearing on top of the cornucopia was Effie Trinket and Caesar Flickerman. Like a fabrication their image flickers appearing right in front of me. Caesar walks around me his boots clicking in the grass mimicking aluminum floor.

"The people of all the districts have adapted- if they know anything they know death is the ultimate equalizer."

"Primrose Everdeen and Peeta Melark!" Effie shrieks

Like a time warp I no longer hang on the edge of the forest but appear in front of the cornucopia. In the shining reflection I see myself. The only thing that belongs to me is my grey eyes. The smell of roses becomes present. The perfume to intense it felt coagulated in my nose.

The boy Peeta appears beside me with pupils fully diluted, his arm stretched out handing me a red rose.

They figures disappear except for the little blonde girl. Prim.

Prim whispers, "Convince me."

Without hesitation I strike.
